Your last day in the apartment started off just like the day before; alone and happily so. Humming to yourself as you searched around the apartment for something else that belonged to you. Something you hoped Dohyun still had.
You couldn't believe you'd forgotten to retrieve it from the safe after all this time, so you were there now, inputting the combination until there was a distinct clank. Blindly at first, you reached inside to make contact with a stack of paper, and curiously you pulled it out.
Three piles of money neatly separated into bundles of ten thousand, as signaled by their paper band; straight from the bank your shared account had been with. This was all of your stolen money, right here— you sure didn't need it but you were taking it back. It was a matter of principle.
Next, you lowered your body to look inside. Finding the small photo album you kept hidden away was still there, and you thanked God Dohyun hadn't had the thought to get rid of it, or worse.
Stayed kneeling on the floor, you slowly flipped through the pages, smiling sadly at the images that greeted you.
When you got to your favorite photo of all, you stopped and stared at it. You were this small, pink-fleshed thing in your mom's arms at the hospital, she was young and you could see she looked scared at the sudden weight on her shoulders. But the undeniable expression of pure love captured in that moment stood out above it all.
You took a shaky breath, snapping the album closed as you blinked rapidly at the ceiling. You wouldn't cry. You just wouldn't.
You needed to focus right now anyway, your mom wouldn't want you here. And with that as your motivator, you stood back up, taking a new case from under the bed to bring with anything else in this room that belonged to you.
You weren't leaving a thing behind this time.
At half five you had received a text to your old phone from Dohyun.
Poor thing had, had a busy day and wanted you to prepare dinner for when he walked in like yesterday. Too bad that wasn't going to happen. Instead, you sat on the sofa with your case parked beside you, typing out a text as six o'clock drew near.
You: He'll be back soon and I'll be ready to come home. Please be here.
[5:54pm]Yoongi: I'm leaving now. I'll be ten minutes.
[5:54pm]With that settled you just had to hope they didn't cross paths outside, which made those last five minutes internal hell for you. You just wanted to blink and have this all be done with—
"Yn? What's going on? I thought I told you to make dinner?" The lights switching on, and Dohyun's sudden appearance half way across the room caught you off guard, making you snap your gaze to him like a deer in the headlights.
Instantly, you were reminded of what you'd come to do. The distain you felt even seeing him near you made your whole body go cold as you stood up to face him.
"I'm leaving Dohyun, for good."
With a hand on your case, you wheeled it along side you as you stepped fearlessly up to him. You had the blade in your purse; if you needed it, you would use it.
"What? No you're not," he scoffed in disbelief.
"You can watch me. This whole relationship all you have done is lie and use me for your own gain but I'm stopping that now," you seethed, walking past him and straight to the door.
"You stupid whore! Where are you even gonna go? You know no one in this city," he crossed his arms, looking at you with cruel amusement.
