The next morning you woke up with vivid recollection of the night before, your heart and stomach fluttering before you had a chance to look at the empty space beside you. You weren't totally surprised to see him gone, but it did leave you feeling that same bitter loneliness.

Your hangovers were never physical, they were emotional and when you'd made that connection four years ago you stopped carelessly sleeping with whoever fell into your bed.

That didn't happen this time.

Sitting up, you looked slowly around the sex-riddled room, face warming uncomfortably. You knew he said you hadn't fucked things up, but you didn't see a way that you couldn't have. Sex complicated everything.

On the desk, you spotted a pile of clothes, just some of your pajamas so you wouldn't have to leave the room naked. You appreciated Yoongi's thoughtfulness as you retrieved the items to put them on.

Yoongi mentioned an early morning, you were going away somewhere and you didn't want to waste time.

Like always, the penthouse was quiet when you stepped out into the hall but it wasn't void of all life. On the balcony through the window, you could see Yoongi on the phone. Dressed more casually in slacks and a tucked white t-shirt today.

The first outfit you'd ever seen him in that showed off his tattooed arms. It looked good on him, as did the cigarette he brought to his lips.

When he spotted you on the other side of the glass he smirked, motioning with his chin for you to join him.

"Jin will be watching him while I'm gone, I told him to report to you directly," he was still speaking when you reached the immaculate glass door, but his eyes were trained only on you while he listened. "Thanks, I'll be in touch when we're coming home," he said into the device before ending the call and putting the butt out in a nearby ashtray.

"Who was that?" The question slipped out before you could reign in your curiosity. He probably didn't want you involved with his business but, before you could back peddle, he smirked wider.

"My friend Hoseok, we'll call him my VP for the sake of ease but he's done a lot more for me than that," he gave you a glimpse of him, and you smiled softly.

"He sounds like a good friend, everything alright?" You ambled closer.

"Yeah," he shook his head casually before donning a cruel, almost excited look. "Just seeing what your boyfriend will do if I'm gone for a couple more days— loosen the reigns a little," he shrugged, and you slowly nodded, the cogs in your brain churning subconsciously.

"But he isn't my boyfriend," you reminded pointedly with your arms crossing over your chest, which caused him to bite back a mischievous grin as he pulled you closer. Right in front of him.

"Good, we'll sort that out soon," he hummed simply, glancing down pensively at your body before he spoke next. "I wanted to talk about last night, I don't want you worrying about it," his brows furrowed slightly.

Wetting your lips, you nodded, "we're okay?"

"We're okay," he nodded once and a sense of relief washed over you, making him exhale. "Anyway, Jin will be ready with the car in twenty minutes. I know it's an early flight but we'll eat there," he informed.

"Twenty minutes? It takes that long for me to get ready," you gaped, and smugly he grinned.

"I did tell you we had an early start today; better get ready quick," he winked, sending you rushing for the door. "And no packing, we'll buy you whatever you want when we get there," he called before you disappeared entirely.
