James Potter paced nervously in front of Sirius Black, who was lounging on the couch with his feet up. Sirius watched his friend curiously, wondering what could possibly be bothering him.

"Prongs, what's up?" Sirius asked, sitting up and giving James his full attention.

James took a deep breath and braced himself for what he was about to say. "I kissed your sister."

Sirius stared at James in shock. "What? Y/n? When?"

James ran a hand through his hair and looked down at the ground. "Last night. We were at the Three Broomsticks and we were both a little drunk. One thing led to another and we kissed."

Sirius jumped up from the couch, anger flashing in his eyes. "How could you do that, Prongs? Y/n is my sister! You know how I feel about her!"

"I know, I know," James said quickly. "I wasn't thinking. It was a mistake."

Sirius glared at James for a few more seconds before heaving a sigh. "Well, what did Y/n say?"

James looked up, relieved that Sirius wasn't completely furious with him. "She was surprised, but she didn't seem to mind. She actually kissed me back."

Sirius shook his head in disbelief. "I can't believe this. My best friend and my sister. What am I supposed to do with that?"

James looked down again, feeling guilty. "I'm sorry, Sirius. I know I shouldn't have done it. I just couldn't help myself."

Sirius sighed and sat back down on the couch. "I don't know what to do, Prongs. I don't want to be mad at you, but this is just so weird. Y/n is my little sister, you know?"

James nodded. "I understand. I'll stay away from her if that's what you want."

Sirius thought for a moment before shaking his head. "No, that's not fair to Y/n. She's her own person and she can make her own decisions. I just need some time to get used to the idea of you two together."

James smiled gratefully at Sirius. "Thank you, Sirius. I won't let you down."

Sirius chuckled. "You better not, or I'll hex you into next week."

James laughed and sat down next to Sirius on the couch. They spent the rest of the afternoon talking about Quidditch and their plans for the summer, avoiding the elephant in the room.

It wasn't until later that evening, when Y/n came over to hang out with Sirius, that the tension between the three of them became palpable. James couldn't help but feel nervous around Y/n, knowing what had happened between them the night before.

Sirius noticed the awkwardness and decided to break the ice. "So, Y/n, James told me about your little kiss last night."

Y/n's eyes widened in surprise. "He did?"

James looked down at his lap, feeling ashamed. "I'm sorry, Y/n. I know I shouldn't have told him without your permission."

Y/n smiled reassuringly at James. "It's okay, James. I wasn't going to keep it a secret forever."

Sirius looked between James and Y/n, a smirk forming on his face. "So, are you two a thing now?"

James and Y/n both blushed, unsure of how to answer. Finally, James spoke up. "I don't know, Sirius. We haven't really talked about it yet."

Y/n nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we need to figure out what this means for us."

Sirius grinned, happy to see his sister and his best friend getting along. "Well, whatever you two decide, just know that I support you," Sirius said with a smile. "Just promise me you won't break Y/n's heart, James."

James looked over at Y/n, determination in his eyes. "I won't, Sirius. I care about her too much to hurt her."

Y/n smiled at James, feeling her heart flutter at his words. "I care about you too, James."

With that, the tension between the three of them dissipated, replaced with a sense of hope for the future. James and Y/n would have to navigate the challenges of being together, especially with Sirius as Y/n's protective older brother, but they were determined to make it work.

As they sat together on the couch, talking and laughing, James couldn't help but feel grateful for the confession he had made to Sirius earlier that day. It had been scary and nerve-wracking, but it had also brought him closer to Y/n and given him the chance to be honest about his feelings.

He leaned over and took Y/n's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. She looked over at him, a soft smile on her face, and he knew that they were meant to be together. They may have started out as just friends, but now they were something more, and he was excited to see where their relationship would take them.
