Third Person POV:

The two and a half weeks went by very slowly for Josh and Mully as they began to miss each other more and more every single day. They would still text each other every day like they had promised but it just wasn't the same.

It came down to the round of the Grand Final where Geelong was versing Essendon which surprised the both of them a little bit. They had both made a plan on how to announce that they were dating and they were excited and nervous at the same time.

Josh still hadn't told Mully that after the Grand Final he would be retiring from footy so he could spend more time with him. Mully also had a massive question to ask Josh after the game which no one knew about yet. Both were very nervous for having to tell the other and hoped that it wouldn't ruin their relationship.

Josh's POV:

I was on the oval at the MCG training before the big game. I was super nervous because I knew that today would be the day that Mully and I would finally confess our relationship to everyone. I was also nervous because I was also going to tell him I was retiring from footy for him.

"Hey Josh, are you alright mate?" Eddie asked as he jogged over to me, holding a ball by his side.

"I'm just really nervous. What if people don't accept me and Mully?" I asked and Eddie gave me a reassuring smile as he gently patted my shoulder with his free hand.

"As long as you two love each what other people think doesn't matter." Eddie replied and I gave him a smile of appreciation.

"Thanks Eddie, I appreciate it." I said as I smiled at him.

"Anything to protect my favourite couple. Besides me and Gaege will kill any haters." Eddie replied and I burst out laughing. I then looked up at him as he looked down at me with an evil grin on his face.

"You don't actually mean that, do you?" I asked and he shrugged his shoulders.

"I mean, it depends how bad the person is about it. But I'm not afraid to kick their knee caps off." Eddie replied and I looked at him shocked before smiling.

"Thanks Eddie. It's good to know I have a supportive friend like you." I stated and he yet again gave me an evil grin with a mischievous shine in his deep brown eyes.

"I'm supportive but I'll still tease you about being a bottom." He replied and I rolled my eyes as I felt my face heat up.

"Alright back to training." I announced as I quickly walked away from him and joined one of the small groups and began training with them. We practiced passing the ball to each other and then we practiced kicking the ball before it was time to go into our room to get ready for the game.

Mully's POV:

I was in the locker rooms changing into my jersey when I heard a notification on my phone. I chucked my t-shirt into my locker before grabbing my phone out to check who had messaged me even though I already had a feeling I knew who it was.

Josh: Good luck! I can't wait to see you again. Let the best team win 😘

Mully: We both know your team is the best. Even though I'll be the best player out there.

Josh: You sure I'm not the best player?

Mully: Maybe you are. But you're just the best in general. Unless we're talking about who the dominate one is 😉

Josh: You don't have to remind me. Anyway, see you out there. Love you 💖

Mully: Love you too 💕

I turned my phone off and put it back into my locker under my shirt before locking the locker and walking over to where the team were all sitting. They were all tying up their shoelaces as they waited for me to give them a prep talk.
