Josh's POV:

We were in the rooms at the Adelaide oval getting ready for the game against Port Adelaide. I was sitting on one of the benches watching the team train when I heard a notification on my phone. I picked it up to check who it was.

Mully: Good luck, I'll be cheering for you 💗

Josh: Thanks, Mully

Mully: Now go out there and kick their ass.

Josh: I promise, I will.

I turned my phone off and placed it on the bench beside me as I smiled to myself. That was the first time Mully had messaged me since the kiss, which I hadn't been able to get off my mind. I hadn't told anyone about it, not even Eddie. I got up to give the team a quick prep talk before the game.

"Alright boys, we haven't lost a game the whole season, let's not start now. We can do this!" I announced and the whole team cheered in agreement.

"Let's go show all of Australia who the best team is!" I yelled and everyone cheered again before we all jogged out the tunnel that lead to the oval. Eddie made his way over to me.

"We got this Josh, make sure you keep your head in the game." Eddie told me and I nodded my head before jogging towards the center of the oval to do the coin flip. Port got to choose first since they were hosting the game and their captain chose Tails. It landed on tails, and he chose which side they were kicking before we both walked away and went to our positions.

I stood in front of the goal where Geelong would be kicking and quickly looked around at all of the players in their positions waiting for the match to start. My mind then trailed off to thinking about Mully. He would be watching this game so I would be doing everything I could to make sure our team won.

My mind was soon brought back to the game when the siren sounded signaling that the game had begun. I took a deep breath before smiling with determination. I will win this game for Mully.

Mully's POV:

I was sitting on the couch in my hotel room watching the footy match on the TV. I had turned down going out with the team to talk strategies for the game coming up just so I could watch Josh and cheer him on. I wish I could be at the game to cheer him on but sadly I was stuck in Queensland to get ready for my team's game that was on Sunday.

I got up off the couch and stood up as the ball travelled towards Geelong's goal and I cheered when Josh jumped up and marked it. I then watched in anticipation as Josh tried kicking for a goal and when he got it in I cheered loudly. I smiled as I watched him jog away from the goal with a smile on his face as he high fived his teammates.

I sat back down and the couch as the ball was bounced, and the timer once again started ticking down. I turned on my phone and started scrolling on social media seeing a lot of stuff about Geelong's game until I came across a post that made my heart slow down and nearly stop.

It was a picture of me and Josh holding hands and I remembered what had happened and who would have taken the picture. It would have been the Geelong fan that had assumed that Essendon was using drugs again when we aren't. Josh had grabbed my hand and dragged me away from South Bank but in the picture, it made it look like we were just holding hands while just walking normally.

I sighed as I turned my phone off and put it back in my pocket. I guess it could have been a worser photo, it could have been a picture of me and Josh kissing. The one thing that I hadn't been able to get out of my mind for the past five days was the kiss. I could barely concentrate on normal things due to it being on my mind all the time. I didn't know if Josh meant it or not but all I knew was that I didn't want it to be the last.
