" Guys, I don't feel like going, do we have to go?" Lexi whined for the thousandth time.
" We are literally out of the venue, we can't head back now," I said excitedly peeking in.
" Please let's go in " Damon pleaded, " you guys seem excited," Ray said, smiling.
" They are excited about everything," Crystal said teasingly, I rolled my eyes as she pulled me closer hooking her hands with mine winking at me.
" off to the Couples Fest," she announced loudly entering, it was an open garden event giving off date night vibes. We got stopped at the entrance a man and woman probably younger than us were sitting at the counter each holding a box that was covered on the top.
She instructed us women to go near the guy while the men had to go near her, each of us had to put our hand into the box, and pick out a small piece of colored paper, each of us got a different color. She asked us to keep the piece of paper and further instructions would be announced a little later.
We all walked in sitting at a table each of us excitedly watching around and taking in our surroundings, it was nice quite a lot of people showed up making us more curious about what the game was going to be about. All the tables were arranged keeping in mind two people while just about four to five were for a large group and we were sitting on one. The entire decoration with the beautiful golden lights and rose flower arrangements gave away outdoor date vibes.
The waiters got us our appetizers and as usual, we gulped them in as though we were starved for years.
" what do you think the game is going to be about?" Drew questioned putting on his detective hat like literally he wore a straw hat, looking dumb, but he wasn't alone Damon and Mathew copied making them look more cute than idiots, the only sane one was Ray but he looked like he was here for some work more than a vacation.
We all turned our heads toward the elevated stage, where a man with mid-length blonde hair greeted all of us giving away the vibes of a host, his white trousers and black t-shirt with a long chain fitting the theme of the event.
"Hello, dear couples, my beloved singles and the ones in between, Welcome to Hawaii!!!" he yelled hyping up the crowd, hearing loud cheers back as well.
" I am your host for tonight Mathew McKenzie, " he introduced himself, the minute he said his name we immediately looked at Mathew, he just rolled his eyes ignoring us.
" Quite a bunch of hot people gathered tonight, kudos to that Vanessa," he said raising his mic to her like a glass.
" Start the Event " someone from the crowd yelled. Mathew played it off cool chuckling "Ya...ya...getting desperate I see... So today's event is going to be a blind date " he yelled excitedly. The crowd went silent "Come on guys I am expecting more enthusiasm than this seems like not all of you have had a good experience with blind dates I guess...don't worry it's going to be fun, let me explain. See each of you'll have picked up a colored paper like this one right? " he asked raising his colored paper as proof. All of us nodded our heads "So they are just two papers of the same color, one that you have and another that your date would have and the rest is history " he said smiling.
" ah, I forgot about the ones who already are here with their dates this is going to be a trust test, and who knows your blind date is better than your current partner maybe... In about five minutes the buzzer will go off and you get to find your date " he announced getting off the stage.
" I am so excited!" Lexi said, sitting up straight.
" the entire day you were sulking and now you excited ?" Drew questioned glaring at her.
