Chapter 31: Pay up.

So this chapter is gonna be different. How so? Well...ahem...

Ashley's POV:
I was at Windigo lake with Todd. We were just talking about our plans for the upcoming dance.
"So, I'm just planning to go as a witch, you?" I said as I was texting Sal.
"Yeah, I might be just a vampire" Todd replied.
"Cool" I said. We both sat their, admiring the sight we were seeing of the lake. I laid down on the ground, waiting for Sal to text me back. After about 2 minutes, he texted back.
"Ask him." I stared at Todd after he said that. I got confused, but then I remembered a bet me and todd made.

*Earlier when Travis was going to sals place*

Me, Todd and Larry were walking in the front of the group. Travis and Sal being behind us. Larry decided to stick with them. Todd and I were chatting. "Hey ash, wanna make a bet?" I stared at him, as he gave a smug look.
"And what would the bet be, exactly?" I said, crossing my arms.
"If Sal asks Travis to the dance, and he says yes, you owe me 5 bucks. But if he says no, I give you a dollar."
"A dollar?? C'mon man" I said, quietly, trying not to alert the three that was behind us.
"Well?" Todd said, having his hand out so I could seal the deal.
"Fine, but think of something else BUT a dollar" I said as I shook his hand.

*end of flashback*

"Well, go ahead and ask."
I sighed and texted Sal.

Ashes: hey, you plan on asking Travis to the dance?
Sally boy: what? I mean, I plan on it but idk if he'll say yes or no.
Ashes: just do it, you won't know until you ask
Sally boy: okay, fine.

Now we wait.

Sal's POV:
Travis was sitting next to me at the table, and Larry left to go check on his place to make sure everything was good. Ash texted me and...I didn't plan on asking Travis out until the day before the dance. I sighed and set my phone down. I looked around the kitchen, trying to find out how to ask Travis. I took a deep breath, and finally said something.
"Do you want to go to the dance with me?" I said as I was looking toward the ground, trying not to make eye contact.
"Just with you? Or do you mean, with you and the group?"
'I want it to be just us. Sure, regardless we'll have a group with us, but just the thought of it just being us. Would you want to go with just me if you were given that choice?' Is what I would've said, but instead I said, "well, of course with the group. I want you to be included y'know" I smiled nervously after saying that. 'Stupid.' Travis smiled softly. "I mean, yeah, I have nothing better to do." I sighed in relieve, thinking he was gonna say no. Why would I think he say no? Yeah, I don't know, just got the feeling. I smiled and nodded, "okay, cool." I heard a vibration come from my phone. I picked it up and surely enough, it was ash.

Ashes: well???
Sally boy: he said yes.

Ashley's POV:
Damnit! "Okay, you win."
"He said yes?" Todd said, giving a shock tone in his voice.
"Yeah? Did you think he'd say no?" I asked, very confused.
"I mean, a little, I had a feeling but besides the point, pay up!" And just like that, I gave 5 bucks to Todd.
"Now, ask-" I cut him off,
"nope, no more bets." Todd gave a sad puppy face. But accepted it anyway. Guess I'm gonna have to find a way to win 5 bucks back.

But since school is almost out, I should be able to update more frequently once I find motivation. Also, this book will be done once I hit chapter, 35 or 40. Whichever comes first. Okay, well bye!
