A visiting friend

It's been 5 years since Alexa hung out with her best friend Linsey. The two of them became fast friends in elementary school and spent time with each other almost everyday until they turned 11 years old. One day Linsey visited Alexa's house and told her that she and her family would be moving to another country because of her dad's job. This broke Alexa's heart hearing that, and it was hard for her family to cheer her up. So, Alexa and Linsey spent as much time as they could together before Linsey moved away.

Alexa wasn't able to keep in touch with Linsey for a while until a year later when Linsey wrote letters to her. So the two of them wrote letters to each other for the next few years. But Alexa really wanted to see her friend in person again. Then one day during her summer vacation, something unexpected happened. Alexa was in her room reading a book when she heard a knock from her door.

"Come in," she said without looking up from her book.

The door opened revealing her older brother Sam. Sam was 13 when Alexa was 11, and he was quite small and so as he grew older he started working out at the local gym and was now muscular and in good shape too.

"Hey sis!" said Sam.

"Oh hey Sam! What's up?" said Alexa closing her book.

"I just wanted to come in and chat for a bit," replied Sam.

"Alright." said Alexa.

The two of them started chatting for a bit, but then Sam suddenly got a very painful headache.

"Gah! My head hurts!" Sam shouted while holding his head and slowly walking towards Alexa's bed.

"Are you ok Sam?" Alexa asked worried.

"I don't kn-," was the last thing Sam said before fainting on the bed.

Alexa quickly rushed over to her brother and tried to wake him up.

"Sam! Sam! Can you hear me? Sam wake up!" Alexa yelled while shaking her brother's body and slightly slapping his face.

Then Sam slowly began to stir, and his eyes slowly opened. But strangely his eyes had changed from blue to green for some reason.

"Oh my goodness! Are you ok? " said Alexa in a worried voice.

Sam turned his head towards Alexa, who noticed his now green eyes.

"A-alexa? Is that you?" Sam said in a calm and quiet voice.

"Yes it's me. Are you alright?" replied Alexa.

Suddenly, Sam smiled and quickly got of the bed and gave Alexa a very tight hug.

"Oh I'm so happy it worked! I've missed you so much!" said Sam happily.

Alexa was very confused and struggled to free herself from her brother's grip.

"Sam, please let me go! I can't breath!" said Alexa.

"Sam?? I'm not Sam, Alexa," said 'Sam' as he let Alexa go. "It's me Linsey your best friend!".

Alexa couldn't believe it. This couldn't be her best friend inside her brother. She hadn't seen her best friend for years.

"Linsey? There's no way you're Linsey," said Alexa.

"Alexa it's really me, Linsey! I can prove it to you!" said 'Sam'.

"Alrighty then. What's the biggest secret that I've only told to my best friend?" said Alexa.

'Sam' thought for a moment as Alexa thought the person in Sam couldn't know the answer to that. Her parents, Sam, and her older sister Mia didn't know about the secret because Alexa never told them about it.

"Oh! I remember you told me in a letter you sent me that your parents threw out your old toy bunny Mr. Carrot away, but you saved him, cleaned him up, and hid him in a shoe box which is under your bed next to the desk," replied 'Sam' with a smile while pointing at the bed.

Alexa's eyes widened hearing that. So, she checked under her bed and pulled out a shoebox that was next to the desk and opened it up revealing Mr. Carrot. Alexa was shocked and quickly hid the shoebox again before standing next to 'Sam'.

"Linsey? It's really you? After all these years?" asked Alexa.

"Yes it's me!" said Linsey/'Sam' as Alexa pulled her in for a hug.

Alexa began to tear up, her best friend was with her again face to face after so long. They kept hugging each other until their arms were a bit sore. And looked at each other with tears in their eyes.

"How is this possible Linsey? You moved away 5 years ago." said Alexa.

"Well....about a few month's ago I found this weird book in the library at the school I go to and it contained a spell that allows you to possess someone's body for a while until you are done using it or when your original body is woken up. So I copied the spell and I focused on possessing the body of one of your family members. Luckily it worked and now I'm here!" said Linsey.

"Wow! That's so cool Linsey! But you do know that your in my brother Sam's body right?" said Alexa.

Linsey had a surprised look on her face and quickly got up to look in the mirror to see the body she was in.

"Aww man! I thought I would end up in Mia's body not Sam's. No wonder I feel weird," said Linsey in disappointment.

"It's ok. As long as your here to visit me, that's all that matters," said Alexa making Linsey feel better.

"Oh goodness! When did your brother get so buff? He's huge. Also when did he have green eyes like me?" said Linsey as she checked out Sam's body making Alexa chuckle.

"Well, he's been working out alot and I think his eyes are green is because your possessing him, I guess," said Alexa.

After that, the two of them caught up with things in their lives and Linsey told Alexa her phone number so she could call and text her, but they also agreed on times Linsey would come back and possess Sam so she could hangout with Alexa for the rest of the summer. But overall, Alexa was happy to have her best friend back in her life again.
