A/N: Vi you absolute beauty, words can't express how happy I was. And those pure pure smiles on the whole team's face when he smashed his hundred. Perfect.
Standing at the non striker's end Faf saw it coming. The ball was gripping in the middle overs, spinners were getting a good turn in the second innings as well. He won't lie, he was a little skeptical himself because of Vi's struggle with spin and especially on a turning track. But from the very first ball Vi faced off of Bhuvi, he knew, he knew the old Kohli was back, the footwork, the precision, the intent it was all there. And all those boundaries off of spinners? Perfection. Faf knew it was coming when by the 15th over Virat was at 82(52) and when in the 18th over Virat was on 92 and they took a double he pushed for the double almost getting himself run out, he wanted Vi to finish the chase off in style, after all, it was him who had been doing most of the heavy lifting from the very first over. When Vi finally did get to his century with a six, he wanted to jump and scream while he ran to the other end, but he needed to be the calm big brother so he excitedly raised his arms and had an armful of a relieved younger brother who buried his face in his neck breathing deeply.
"I told YOU! It'd be you who'd score the century. Oh I'm so proud of you!!!"
"Yes you did. Now, let's finish this off come on Faffy."
And though Vi did get out on the next ball, the work was done, Maxi joined him and he looked just as pumped and excited as everyone in the stadium,
"He's back for good eh?"
"Yup! Come on, let's get this done with."
RCB won the match comfortably with Max and Mikey taking them over the line.

Virat was exhausted. Phew. What a match, he had sunk down onto his knees after his century out of sheer relief, a must win match and he led his team to victory with Faf. Faf who had become a constant support to him in the past two years, Faf who stood by his side when he was in the worst form of his life, giving him extra warm hugs everytime he looked close to tears on the field. Today however, for a split second he thought it was AB on the other end, back in 2016, it was always AB there who'd be jumping and cheering for him, pumping him up, so for a second he thought Faf was AB, but then Faf came running to him and he just fell into that hug. The pride in Faf's voice made him warm all over, he finally felt like he was back to his very best.
