A/N: Convincing win against Pakistan. Well played Ro. Jassi, Siraj, Hardik, Kul, Jaddu all of them scalping 2 wickets each. Glad Virat and Shubman got their one bad scores out of the way this tournament. I hope these are the only bad scores and then they can score one more before KOs to level it. And it's hilarious how both of them scored 16 lmao, from scoring ducks in same match to scoring centuries in same match to scoring the same runs, these 2 have taken sibling goals to another level. King and Prince for real.

Also genuine question why is that when the lights are dimmest and pressure is the weakest Virat doesn't perform the way he should? I mean he bashed Australia, showed no mercy with Afg but against Pak he was like "Meh Rohit, Rahul aur Shreyas hei sambhal lenge" not the first time I'm seeing this even at the WT20 last year he was so chill against Zimb and SA like he knew we were already through. Onto the story anyway.

Mahi bhai was determined to make sure he wasn't losing his kids to their own kids in the team. But what surprised him more is that, they looked like their old selves with the team and with him, they were being all grown up. So he decided to just sit back and notice for a few days and then he'll confront them on why this change.

Virat had looked really upset and dull on their flight to Delhi. Ishan was even more upset and it fell on Ro to make sure they both remained cheery cause nobody knew what to do when both the sunshine smiley people were all gloomy. MS watched as Ro, Ish and Vi sat together in the flight talking in low voices but after a while they were both in much better spirits and they went back to bullying Ro not letting him sleep. He smiled a little now at ease that all 3 of them were okay.

The next few days, even Mahi bhai noticed how there seemed to be this hole in the team. There was always a seat left empty in between Ishan and Virat with Ro sitting to Vi's left. It looked like some unspoken rule nobody sat there and Mahi bhai's curiosity got the best of him and he asked Jaddu who told him that was Shubman's seat and the last time somebody sat in Shubman's spot, there was silent treatment from the kid for a week. He had ignored Vi and Jaddu, Vi because he didn't shoo Jaddu away and Jaddu cause he knew it was Shub's place yet he sat there.

Then came their second match against Afghanistan, the clowns in the team bus kept shooting teasing glances at Virat for more reasons than just Naveen ul Haq. This was going to be Virat's first and last WC playing in his home ground in front of his pavilion. It was a proud moment for every single one of them having played with him for years. Virat had steadily ignored them all by looking down into his phone with pods in. Having been put into chase, Afghanistan did put up a fight towards the end. And oh the crowd supporting their local lad, the atmosphere was crackling with intensity.

Chasing a target of 273, Rohit had gone in all guns blazing while Ishan was struggling to find footing. 94/0 at the end of 10 overs and Virat was jumping in his seat like an over excited bunny, he looked at MS, eyes alight, huge grin almost splitting his face in two and excitedly said,

"He might score a 100 today bhai!! In front of my home crowd!!! aaahhhh I'm so excitedddd."

Mahi bhai laughed and put one hand on Virat's shoulder to keep him from vibrating in the seat, beginning of the 18th over, Virat refused to sit down, he remained standing and when Ro scored his 7th hundred in WCs with a single, Virat jumped, clapping his hands, pumping his fists in the air, screaming in joy as the entire dugout stood up as well.

An over later, Ishan got out and Virat happily hopped down the steps and ohh how the crowd went wild on that first wicket, it was cinematic how Virat walked out of his pavilion, bat twirling, shadow batting, eyes focused.
