4 times Virat was jealous of people in Mahi bhai's life and the one time Mahi bhai was jealous of people in Virat's life
I. Harry
It was back in 2016, a few weeks after the Asia Cup, all the boys were preparing for the World T20. Hardik had been relentlessly pestering Virat and Rohit to take him out on a drive or a ride, anything, he was bored out of his mind. Vi had vehemently refused,
"We have a tournament around the corner! Our focus needs to be on practicing and being fully fit!"
"But Vi bro PLEASE!"
"No means no Harry. Now leave me alone!"
Virat stepped off the treadmill, headed to sit on the bench taking sips of water and skillfully avoided looking at the puppy dog eyes being directed at him. Really, captaining a franchise in IPL made him immune to ignoring those puppy dog eyes from the kids there and now even in the ICT. Mahi bhai had seen all this from a distance, he wasn't sure if he liked how his Cheeku had grown up so quickly and had taken up the role of big brother, looking at the overkill expression on Harry's face, he quickly said,
"It's okay Harrry, come on, I'll take you out for ice cream on my bike later this evening okay?"
"Yesss! Mahi bhai you're the bestt" Harry had stuck his tongue petulantly out at Virat and hugged Mahi bhai.
Virat stared incredulously at his Mahi bhai spluttering, cause really all those times he had been turned down when he pitched the same idea, he huffed and turned away, envy climbing up his throat,
"You never took me out for ice cream when I asked!" He grumbled looking up at Mahi bhai from under his lashes.
"Well you became a fitness freak when I offered. Baccha hei wo, just this time I'll take him for ice cream. You want me to bring you one back?"
"No. It's fine aap jao." He gave a tight grin and watched as an amused Mahi bhai walked out the gym door.
'He didn't even ask if I wanted to come with him. Huh. Harry's more important to him now. Stupid Harry.'
He then proceeded to go tattle everything to Ro who was just as jealous and it worsened when a smug Harry rubbed it in their faces.
II. Rishu
Now Virat loved that kid. Rishabh was a full package of entertainment, his antics made him laugh and it was even funnier just how much the kid feared him on the field. It was during their 2019 WC campaign he started to notice how Mahi bhai was slowly spending more and more time with Rishu, it didn't bother him at first of course, but then one day at practice, he had called out to Mahi bhai asking him to come help out in his net practice,
"Bhai! You promised you'll keep when I'm batting today!"
"Haa baba I'll come let me just help Rishu out with his technique and I'll come, you start your net session."
One hour turned to two and now even Ro batting in the nets next to him started to get irked, they heard Rishabh being praised by THEIR Mahi bhai,
"Good job Rishu! You're getting better and better everyday!"
"He never complimented us like that did he Ro?"
"No...now it's all Rishabh this Rishabh that, haa we understand he's your prodigy keeper batsmen, we're your kids first."
"And you know Ro, he kicked me out of his room the other day cause Rishu was sleepy! He never kicked you out when I was sleepy for a change!"
They stared in disbelief as their Mahi bhai took Rishabh up to the dressing room by his shoulder, both laughing about something, he had forgot about them completely, Vi enviously grumbled to himself,
