________________________________________Joshua's Point of View:
________________________________________I watched in horror as Dax slowly rises to his feet after taking a beating just moments ago. Doesn't he understand that he could die? I grit my teeth together in irritation. I can't just stand here and spectate as my wolf boy gets his ass kicked.
With determination and adrenaline running through my veins, I grab a stick that was on the ground and run down towards the battlefield. What the Hell am I thinking? I'm being as stupid as Dax right now. I could die for God's sake. I'm human, I have no special powers whatsoever but here I am, running towards a fight between wolves, three of them in fact. Two are basically the same. I'm absolutely bat shit insane.
With the stick in hand I stop in front of Dax, readying myself to protect him. Yep, I'm definitely insane. "Stop!" I shout, glaring at the two black wolves in front of me. Man, who would ever knew that I would get over my fears of wolves because one came into my life. Although, I'm about to mauled, I could die trying to fight my fears.
The two K.C.'s looked at each other and gave out a wolfish bark. Are they mocking me? "Hey," I shout again, stomping my right foot like a child, "I'm being serious!" And of course they continue to make that noise as if I'm a joke. Goddamn it, I'm intimidating.
I could feel something nudge the back of my legs and I turn to look at the huge gray wolf with faint glowing blue markings and forest green eyes. Dax shakes his wolfish head at me. "I got this, Dax." Yeah, I'm being an idiotic human, so what? At least I tried to protect what's mine.
I grip my stick tightly and stalk up towards the black wolves. I could feel Dax trying to stop me by biting the back of my jeans. His plan doesn't work because I start dragging him along with me.
I stop in front of the two barking black wolves. Feeling an overwhelming force within me, I flip the stick in my hand and swing it across the wolfish face of one of the K.C.'s like a baseball bat. To my surprise that K.C. goes flying off and her back hits the trunk of a tree not too far away from where we're standing.
I just stood there gaping like a fish out of water. What the Hell?! What was that just now!? I look at Dax to also see that his wolfish eyes are wide in disbelief. A smile breaks out on to my face. "Fuck yeah! Take that bitch! That'all teach you not to mess with my Dax!" I could feel the pride radiating off of me in waves. I just took out a wolf. How awesome is that!? A sudden dangerous growl breaks me out of my mental victory dance.
Oh shit, I forgot there's another one. Then I feel a strong force push into my back and then my face meets the ground. Shit, that hurts...
The growling sound is right near my ear but it's suddenly abrupted by a yelp and the huge force is gone from my back. I turn to look at Dax but I see that's it's Joseph who saved me.
"Need help Luna?" He asked, sounding extremely concerned.
"Where the Hell have you been!?" I'm pissed, this guy was off somewhere else while we were fighting a psychotic wolf bitch.
Joseph eyes flashed with regret and he hung his head down in submission. "I'm sorry Luna, I'll explain later." Damn it, stop being so adorable, now I just want to hug him and tell him that everything's alright.
"Alright, but do me a favor though."
Joseph perked up at that, "Yes Luna?"
I smiled, "Go help Dax kick some ass." Joseph's eyes flashed menacingly, and he smirked at me. He nodded and ran off towards the fight. He jumped up and shifted in midair, his clothes shredding in between shifting. He growled and ran off towards Dax's side. The other K.C. that was knocked against the tree was up and limping to K.C.'s side.
All four wolves are growling at the opposite sides. Baring their teeth and snarling. The wind blew gently around the battlefield and the wolves stared each other down. Leaves were gently whisked away and trees rustled sloftly. I watched silently as the gray wolf shifted his front right paw and closed his eyes. His markings glowing brightly. Water rises from the lake nearby and slithers towards the wolves.
The two K.C.'s aren't going to be sitting idly, they run off towards Dax to interrupt him and break his focus. Joseph runs towards one of the K.C.'s and tackles her to the ground with extreme force. They both snarl at each other, K.C. trying to buck Joseph off of her and Joseph trying to bite her. The other K.C. charges up to Dax but he quickly opens his eyes and the water above his head swipes at her and knocks her backwards.
Dax, slowly stalks towards the K.C. he knocked back, shifting the water into above his head into a snake. The snake is suddenly placed on to the ground and it slithers towards K.C. and wraps itself around her. The snake hisses at her face while she yelps and thrashes around, trying to get away. The snake's head thins itself and enters her nose and mouth.
He's drowning her.
The snake keeps entering her openings until there's nothing left. The black wolf chokes as it tries to breathe but that action is possible due to the large amounts of water inside her. The wolf suddenly stops moving.
Not feeling up to knowing what happens next I look towards Joseph to see that he is using his claws to slash at the final K.C.'s chest. Blood is spurting everywhere around them as Joseph tears through flesh and fur. The sound of loud whimperings and yelps are heard throughout the entire forest. Joseph finally decides to put K.C. out of her misery and clamp his jaw on her kneck and snap it. Killing her instantly.
The smell of blood is high in the air from Joseph's onslaught. The lake looks lower know thanks to Dax's power. The forest is deadly silent. Not a single sound could be heard. I look up when I hear the sound of bones cracking and I see Dax in his human form walk up towards me. And he's completely naked. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me into his chest.
His face is into my hair and he breathes in deeply. "I'm so sorry." He mumbles those words over and into my hair like a broken record. I want to ask what's he sorry for but the words don't come out.
Then suddenly I feel it, the sudden burst of pain. It explodes like atomic bomb throughout my body and I let out a scream. God it hurts so bad. The pain is too much! Make it stop! Please, I can't take this.
"Joseph, take him into the house now!?" I hear Dax shout as my vision darkens. Wh-what's going on? I shift my darkened vision towards Joseph when he carefully lifts me up into his arms. Joseph has a grim line on his face his eyes still have that regret glint into it. My hand subconsciously reach towards my neck and I could feel something wet and warm on my fingers, I shift to my hand to my eyes and see that my fingers are coated in blood.
I gasp as my vision turns black.
