"Frostpaw!" Goldenstar yowled, rushing towards the long gap but a tree fell in front of him, blocking his way.
Frostpaw managed to cling onto the root of a plant but she was slipping. "Help!" she cried, desperately trying to climb up the smooth edge.
Suddenly, a shadowy cat appeared. Letting out a faint gasp of shock, Frostpaw realised who the cat was.
Bloodfang! Is he here to make me fall?
His amber eyes revealed nothing. He stared at her, and Frostpaw realised he looked shocked.
"Help!" she yowled again as the root slowly began to give way.
"Bloodfang, get off her!" Goldenstar screeched, running towards the gap.
He ignored Goldenstar, muttering to himself.
"I can't hold on any longer!" Frostpaw yowled.
Then, the dark gray tabby did something she didn't really expect him to do.
He crouched down and stuck out his paw. "Grab my paw," he mewed.
Without hesitation, Frostpaw grabbed his paw, half expecting him to throw her into the gap.
With a grunt, he managed to pull her back on the ground.
"T-thank you," Frostpaw stammered weakly.
"You should rest," he mewed, but she had already fallen unconscious.
"What have you done?" Goldenstar snarled, ready to swipe at Bloodfang.
"Wait," Wavetail meowed. "He did nothing wrong. He saved her."
"Let her rest first," the dark gray tabby tom mewed simply.

Frostpaw opened her eyes. She could already tell what was coming. Yet another dream or vision of death anf battle.
But the vision was clearer than her previous ones. It showed her the ThunderClan camp.
Frostpaw gasped as she saw her Clanmates, fighting with determination in their eyes.
But what shocked her the most was her fighting a dark brown tabby tom, whose dark amber eyes seemed to bore into her.
What is this?
Frostpaw then realised what it was. Based on the shadowy shapes of cats fighting her Clanmates and the fact that both her and the tom was the most clearly seen, she knew what she had to do.
Frostpaw is the one who will defeat whoever the dark brown tabby tom is.
~~~~
"She's awake," Frostpaw heard Wavetail's meow.
"What happened?" Goldenstar demanded.
"Well..." Frostpaw hesitated, looking at the tom who had saved her. "I need to ask him some questions first."
"Go ahead then," Goldenstar mewed with a confused look.
Frostpaw padded to the dark gray tabby tom. "Bloodfang is probably not always your name right?" she asked. "If it's not, what is?"
"It's true," he replied. "Well... my name before that was Thornshadow."
"I misjudged you," she admitted. "I thought you were nothing but a blood thirsty killer. Are there others like you in the Dark Forest?"
"Very little," Thornshadow mewed. "Not many can hide from the Dark Forest's powers that makes cats more evil than they were."
"I see," Frostpaw muttered.
"Are you done asking him questions?" Wavetail asked impatiently.
"Yes," she turned to face Goldenstar.
"Well, what happened?" he asked.
"When the ground split before me, I managed to hold on the root of a plant," Frostpaw began to explain. "Then, Thornshadow appeared."
"Thornshadow?" Goldenstar echoed. "You mean him?" He gestured to the dark gray tabby who was watching everything.
Frostpaw nodded. "At first I thought he wad going to push me down," she mewed. "But he didn't. In fact, he managed to get me to safety. But I suddenly felt tired so I fainted."
The DragonClan cats didn't make any comment.
Thornshadow turned to Goldenstar. "I apologise for everything I did, although you might think that me apologising is not enough. I have made sure that my rogues will not bother your Clan again."
"I accept your apology, though I have not fully forgiven you," Goldenstar spoke. "But there's always a chance to forgive and forget. I wouldn't forget, but I will forgive you soon enough."
Thornshadow dipped his head in acknowledgement.
"Now that's settled," Wavetail broke in. "Can we get that horsetail already? The sun is going to disappear. It's quite dangerous walking in darkness."
"The marsh is right there," Frostpaw mewed. "I'm going to get the horsetail. Thornshadow, are you coming along with us?"
"No, I have to return," Thornshadow explained. "But I'll come if there is trouble."
The dark gray tabby tom disappeared. Frostpaw ran towards the marshy area and spotted the plants she needed.
She carefully chewed off part of the plant and gathered up the fleshy stalks.
With her jaws full of horsetail, she and the DragonClan cats made their way back to the camp.
