Meet the Trio

Turns out Scott had a car (a rental), so they were able to drive to the school, and not be late. Ned got Scott registered into the office (they had to forge a couple signatures and make up a few things about Ned being his cousin and his parents on a business trip), and they made their way to Mr. Harrington's class.

"Ned, almost late again." He scowled at them, frowning when he was handed the slip of paper by Scott.

"Class this is our new student, Scott Mccall. You can sit by Ned in the back, Mr. Mccall."

Scott nodded and Ned led him to their seats in the back. 

The class was long and boring and Ned kept glancing over at Scott.

Who was he? 

But more importantly:

What's his story?

The class ended, and they went on to their next one. Since Scott was new and everything and Ned's supposed cousin, they put him in all of Ned's classes except one. 

Science class was where he was with Peter. But that was after lunch.

At lunch Ned showed him where to get his lunch and brought him over to the usual table he, Peter and Mj sat at.

Peter looked up, greeting Scott with a warm but confused smile, while Mj barely glanced at him before emitting a grunt in his general direction. 

Ned sat down, Scott next to him. 

"Hey guys, so I met Scott here today, and Scott -meet the trio- before school, and he's so cool!! He has this mysterious past that he won't tell me anything about and we gotta help him!!!"

Peter laughed. "Slow down there, Ned." He turned to Scott. "Hey, Scott, I'm Peter Parker, Ned's best friend."

Scott laughed and smiled at Peter. "So you're the famous Peter Parker. I've heard some things about you from Ned."

"Only good I hope," Peter grinned at Scott but quickly glanced at Ned, asking him the silent question.

Ned shook his head. Of course he didn't tell him he was spider-man. 

Peter relaxed, and started eating his food.

Scott glanced over at Mj, "And you must be the Mj."

Mj stared him down. "And why must I be Mj?" she asked, her voice containing sass. Peter shot her a look but she gave him a look that said, he's got to know who he's dealing with.

"Well you're the one who rolled her eyes at me when I sat down, so I figured that must be you." Mj rolled her eyes but smiled softly as she took a bite out of her lunch.

Peter leaned closer over the table and talked in a low voice. "So why do you need our help, Scott?"

Scott hesitated for a moment then leaned in too. "Well, this might sound strange, but I noticed you have superheros here?"

Ned, Mj, and Peter exchanged a glance. Maybe he just means our city, Peter thought. 

"Well, yeah, we have the Avengers. Some of them live in the Stark Industries tower, where Peter works." Ned said.

This seemed to catch Scott's interest.

"We do have another superhero here," Mj said dryly, shooting Peter a wry smile. 

"Who?" Scott asked.

Ned's face brightened. "Spider-man!!!?!?!??!??!"

Scott looked amused. "Does he live with the avengers too?"
