-------------
Previously:
That's when he remembers the bomb, and he hears Tony's panicked voice calling his name from beyond the doors, laced with desperation and grief.
And then everything explodes, and all he knows is pain.
His skin is on fire, and his mind is on fire, and everything hurts, and then there is nothing.
nothing....
-------------
Pain.
Pain is all he knows.
It tears through his body, consuming his mind, burning him inside and out.
He struggles to breathe, his lungs feel charred, and his chest is so tight he's not even sure if he's actually breathing or not.
There's a painful ringing in his ears and something wet is oozing out of them.
Death shouldn't be this painful, right?
He faintly hears someone calling his name, and gentle hands cup his cheeks and something wet drops on his stinging face before the person is gone and he...
....he slowly fades back into unconsciousness.
-------------
Everything still burns, but now he feels that he's moving, not in someone's arms, though.
He's lying on cold metal and he hears the sounds of an engine.
The only thing he can make sense of is his spidey sense screaming at him.
Whatever he's in goes over a bump, and the pain makes him black out again.
-------------
It's dark.
He's afraid to open his eyes.
He peeks them open anyway, and finds himself in a hospital room, painted all in white, and with no windows. There is a door directly across from his bed though and the scent of cleaning alcohol sharp in his nose.
Confused he tries to sit up, only to lay back down gasping in pain with tears in his eyes.
He looks down at himself, shocked.
He's still in his suit, and thought it protected all his important stuff and keeping him from dying, he is still very injured.
His suit is ripped in places, and his arms, stomach, torso, legs, hands, and from what he can tell, face and back are burned. He can hardly bare to look at his practically melted skin, and he feels like throwing up just from what he saw. Thank goodness for speed healing.
He reaches his hands up to his ears and stares at the blood left on them, he can feel it crusted on either sides of his face, looking down he examines the rest of himself.
His wrist is heavily burned but someone was still able to attach an IV to him, which he quickly rips out, seeing the bag basically empty anyway. Blood dribbles down his wrist but he can hardly care about that when his whole body feels like an overcooked turkey!!!!
He feels like sobbing from the pain, but he pushes it down, needing to know first where he is, and what he can do to find Tony, Ned, Pepper, and... his thoughts falter. Mj.
