Valeria Castro
"Okay, and that's it for today's interviews. Thank you guys so much." I sigh in relief and slouch in my chair.
Thank god we only have two weeks left of this until December, when we go to all the premiers. That should be fun.
"Hey, you okay?" I hear from beside me. I turn to look at Jamie and nod. "I'm alright, Jamie. You don't have to ask every five minutes." I smile at his concern for me.
"I'm still going to ask every five minutes." I breathe out a laugh, and Jamie chuckles.
I start to get up and get the microphone off my shirt. I feel a presence behind me, so I turn around. It's a guy I've seen looking at me a couple times while we filmed the interviews. I didn't think he'd do anything, but apparently I was wrong.
"Hey... uh I was wondering if I get could your number so we can go out sometime?" He says as he holds his phone in his hand. I try to suppress a smile as much as I can and glance at Jamie, who covers his mouth, obviously smiling, and slowly turns around.
It wouldn't hurt to say yes... right?
"Sure." His face immediately lights up, and he hands his phone to me. I put in my number and name before handing it back.
"My name is Josh, by the way." He hold out his hand, not holding his phone for me to shake. I smile shaking his hand. "I'm Valeria." He smiles even harder and nods. "I'll text you, yeah?" I nod, and he turns around slowly to walk away.
I turn to look at where everyone else is and they're all suppressing laughs. Well, everyone except Jamie, for some reason. He was just smiling though? He has an unrecognizable look on his face. I raise my eyebrows at all of them.
"We'll look at you pulling guys without even trying." Bailey says, laughing. I shrug in fake cockiness, and they all laugh. Once again, all except Jamie, though.
I furrow my eyebrows and get close enough to him so I can whisper as we start walking out. "You okay?" He nods and looks down at me. He opens his mouth like he's going to say something else, but he just closes it and walks ahead of me. I look at Bailey, who's next to me, confused.
"You know what's up with him? He was fine literally a minute ago." She slows down to let everyone else walk ahead of us.
"If I tell you, you'll tell me I'm being crazy."
"Just say it, Bailey." She sighs and looks ahead to see if anyone could be listening. "Maybe he likes you." I involuntarily laugh out loud. I cover my mouth at the noise. "You're crazy, Bailey."
"See!" I roll my eyes.
"He does not like me. I would know Jamie is horrible at hiding stuff, especially from me." This time, Bailey rolls her eyes.
"Here's the deal, Val. You two are the most oblivious people I've ever met, and you both seem to think you know each other so well. Newsflash! You really don't. You haven't even had a proper conversation since that stupid argument last."
I just stare at her. mostly in shock. She never really goes off on anyone like this. Bailey is possibly the nicest person on this whole planet, and she's irritated at me. She sighs, and I can tell she's about to apologize, so I interrupt her.
"Don't you dare apologize, Bailey." She pauses.
"You're right, and it's taken me too long to accept that we don't know each other as well anymore. I'm sorry I keep putting you in the middle of this."
She shakes her head. I speak again before she can.
"No, it is true." Her face drops as she accepts that I'm right. "I needed the hard truth, and it's alright." I put my arm around her shoulder and pull her in for a side hug.
We finally make it out of the stuffy building and to the car, a different one. It only has one row, and it's small. The driver looks up, confused at how many of us there are.
"Umm.. I was told I was picking up three people." All of us look at each other confused. "My passenger seat is full of stuff right now... um I can call the company for another car..." All of us shake our heads, not wanting to be an inconvenience.
"No, it's fine. I'm sure we can squeeze in." We put the smallest in the middle, meaning Trinity and I, Jamie, and Jack at the doors, and Bailey next to Trinity and Jack, very squished. Jamie can't close the door, so he looks at me wincing as he comes up with an idea.
"What if you half sit on me?" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "Like, put your leg over mine so you're half sitting over me." I exhale nervously. I lift myself by putting a hand on his shoulder and putting one leg on his leg. I set myself back down, and he scoots more and closes the door.
The car starts to move, and I can't stay still with the car going over bumps, so I wrap my arm around Jamie's shoulders hesitantly. He lets me he even moves his head so I can.
"I think it might have been easier to have Trinity sit on one of our laps." I hear Bailey say quietly, almost scared to say it.
"Bailey, it was a last second idea." Jamie says annoyed.
"I know jesus I was just saying." Bailey says back and turns to look out the window. Jack snorts, then Trinity giggles quietly. I sigh in annoyance and just pray there's no traffic on the way to the hotel.***
