CHAPTER 3: A FOOL'S HOUR

Me and Shelby came into the base as the two of us put our Energems into the gap in the wall. I was wearing a navy blue shirt, black 3/4 length trousers and black converse. I walked behind Riley when Shelby passed him, who was doing some training with tennis balls. "Oops, careful" Shelby said. 

I walked towards my boyfriend, Keigo, who was currently sitting at the table. "Hey songbird" Keigo greeted when I sat down next to him and he pecked my cheek. "Hey lovebird" I greeted back as I pecked him back on the cheek. "Good morning" Shelby said. "Hey, don't you look sharp" Chase said.

"It's such a relief to finally come to the museum...and not have to look like that!" Shelby said as she saw Tyler coming into the base, wearing a hat and an apron. "Isn't this great? I get to be a bus boy at the café" Tyler said. "You're late Shelby. Please Chase, this is a sterile laboratory, not a garage" Kendall said.

"Why is Tyler dressed to work in the café? We're Rangers now, you know, busy saving the world" Shelby said. "Sometimes you're busy saving the world and the other times you're busy flipping burgers. Today it's burgers, that's how you blend in so no one will suspect that you're Rangers" Kendall said.

Koda yawned and came out of his cave. "Someone say burgers?" Koda said. "Koda, do you like, sleep in that cave?" Tyler asked. "Yes, my home" Koda said. "Koda has found the Blue Energem a hundred thousand years ago, during the Pleistocene Era" Kendall said.

"So you mean, Koda's a..." Shelby started to say. "Caveman?" Tyler, Riley, Shelby and Keigo said at the same time. Koda started to flex his muscles a little. "Awesome" Tyler said. "Really, he's one hundred thousand years old. That's impossible" Riley said. "Once he has bonded to an Energem, he stopped aging. None of you will age when you are bonded to an Energem" Kendall said.

"So, I will stay eighteen?" Shelby asked. Kendall nodded her head a little. "This job has some great benefits" Shelby said. "And I will always look like this" Chase said. "So, there are some negatives too" Keigo said. I nodded my head in agreement.

Me and Shelby entered Koda's cave as the two of us stood with the others. "My spears, good for hunting Sabertooth Tigers" Koda said. "You write on the walls?" Tyler asked. "Petroglyphs..." I started to say. "It's a prehistoric form of writing" Shelby said. "Yes, I write my story, here" Koda said. Tyler was checking the writing when he saw a drawing of a figure.

"That one, who is that?" Tyler asked. "That is Fury" Koda said. Tyler went away for a while to get something. "Very bad, he fight to steal, Energem" Koda said. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, he tried to take my Energem" Riley said. Tyler came back. "Guys, take a look at this. Is that him?" Tyler asked as he showed all of us his dad's journal. "Yes" Koda said. "The one that was after your dad" Shelby said.

The alarm suddenly beeped. "That doesn't sound good" Tyler said. "Several objects just entered Earth's atmosphere" Kendall said. "Sledge?" I asked. "Let's go found out for ourselves" Chase said. "Come" Koda said. All of us were heading to the location.

All of us were rushing through the woods. "This way!" Tyler said. "Oh look, it's the Rangers" a monster said. "What are you, a walking lollipop?" Keigo retorted back. "Well, it's lovely to meet you...not. Allow me to introduce the most magnificent intergalactic bounty hunter in the universe...the one and only my future husband...Sledge" Poisandra said.

"This is a joke, right? You are the Rangers who keeps on destroying all my monsters?" Sledge said. "Power Rangers" Shelby said. Then the monsters are beginning to laugh. Koda sniffed the air. "Fury, up there" Koda told Tyler. Tyler gasped a little. "That is him, the creature in my dad's journal" Tyler said.
