Third person POVTW- Contains blood, gore, and death
End of fifth year
-------
Sebastian and Amara snuck through the spider-invested caves, he heard of one more cure that may help his sister. She left him but he was still determined to help her.
"It's too quiet...I don't like it." Amara whispered nervously.
"Shh, we'll be fine." He gave her a reassuring smile. He lead the way through the caves, searching every chest along the way.
"Do you even know what the elixir looks like?" Amara raised her brow.
"I'll know it when I see it." He didn't turn to look at her. After a little while he stopped abruptly, Amara nearly bumped into him.
"What is it?"
"I think I found it!" He pointed to a large bottle containing a purple liquid. It stood on a pedestal, the moonlight shined on it.
"It looks like a trap, it's too out in the open..." Amara whispered scanning the room.
"Oh relax, Zinnia." He nudged her playfully. "This place has been abandoned for centuries, and plus, you have me." He shot her a wink and walked up to the pedestal. He removed the elixir and placed it in his bag. "See, nothing to worry about." His smile slowly faded. "Amara...walk to me, slowly." His voice went cold as the blood drained from his face. She sucked in her breath and obeyed his command, she slowly walked to him, reaching for his hand. Refusing to look behind her. He quickly pulled her in close and pulled out his wand.
"Confringo!" He shouted. Amara turned around and saw the swarm of spiders blocking their escape.
"Bombarda!" She joined in. The two were back-to-back throwing spell after spell. "Sebastian, there's too many!" Fear crept into her voice.
"We will make it out, I promise!" He chugged a Wiggenweld potion. The battle continued, spiders fell, potions were drunk, and spells were cast. More spiders kept coming. They were getting tired but he was determined to get them out. As he cast more spells, he grabbed Amara's hand and began to run. Making a path as they ran. As they ran, something hit them, sending them flying in different directions.
Amara looked up, an Acromantula had crawled out of the shadows. The color drained from her face, her heart was in her throat. They were out of potions. The Acromantula crawled to Sebastian, he was out cold.
She scrambled to her feet, realizing the danger he was in.
"Confringo!"
"Bombarda"
"Diffindo"
"Stupefy"
"Glacius"
She cast a spell after getting the beast away from Sebastian. She renounced the dark magic she once yielded, her ancient magic was sealed in the repository. Any spell she used seemed to bounce right off the beast. She backed up, maintaining the distance as she still cast the spells.
"Confringo Maxima!" The beast screeched and raced toward her. Her eyes went wide with horror and she ran, casting spells over her shoulder. She could hear it chasing after her, she blindly turned corner after corner, yanking webs from her face. She turned the last corner and saw Sebastian still on the ground. She ran in a circle, the beast still screeching behind her. She ran in the opposite direction, keeping its attention on her and away from Sebastian. She was tired.
The beast caught up to her, it lunged and sank its fangs into her back, pinning her to the ground. Her screams gurgled as her mouth filled with blood. She rolled to cast a spell and it sank its fangs into her shoulder. She couldn't scream, her face stained with her fear, and a single tear ran down her cheek. She clutched her wand tightly in her hand.
