"Dad! I'm home!" I shouted as I opened the door.
When he didn't respond I walked straight in almost falling over some paper on the floor. I looked down at my feet to see post. 3 pieces. 1 for me and 2 for my dad. I picked them up and opened mine. Just a letter from gran; she has no clue what texting is so we get lots of letters from her.
~~~
I heard the front door open. My dad was home! I ran to the door to greet my dad.
"Hi!" He said cheerfully
"Your late." I said looking up at him in a disappointed way
"Sorry I had to work overtime. They needed an extra pair of hands."I handed him his post and he opened it.
"Ahh from my mum. Still need to teach her texting" he laughed
He read the letter and picked up the second one. He looked confused.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"Nothing." He said too fastI walked in front of him and pointed his face up to me.
"Tell the truth. What are you always telling me?" I said looking down at him
He didn't answer me. I let him read the letter properly before taking it from his hands.
"No-" he started
"What?" I asked him.
"Don't read it."
"Why?"He didn't answer again.
"I'm gonna read it if you don't give me an answer." I said
"Fine. It's for me only. No kids."
"It's not from mum is it?"He shook his head. I handed him the letter back and went up to my room. He called after me asking what I wanted for dinner but I never answered him.
