I arrived at the mcdonalds and saw Emerald and Roxie waiting.
"Hi!!" I said smiling
"Hi!" Emerald said
"Hellooo" Roxie said "I know you didn't invite me but Emerald said you were coming and I just came too I guess. I'll pay though."
I nodded. As soon as we walked in we smelt the greasy food that was served here.
"Ok what do you want?" I asked Emerald and Roxie
"It's alright I'll order separately." Roxie said
"No. I was asking you what you want. I am paying." I said firmly
"I'll just have a plain burger and fries." Emerald said
"I'll just have some nuggets and fries." Roxie said
I ordered Emerald's meal as they said but I ordered Roxie's as a kids meal but with extra nuggets. I hoped that they didn't notice. I ordered myself a chicken burger and fries.
We waited for our order to be ready and then went and sat at a table.
"Did you hear about the war?" Emerald asked us
"Yeah." I responded "I read my dad's letter."
"There's a war?" Roxie asked confused
Me and Emerald both nodded.
"Oh" Roxie still looked confused
"How come your dad got chosen?" Emerald asked
"I dunno. Maybe because he won archery competitions when we was in school?" I said "I didn't realise they got chosen. I thought it was just a bunch of people."
Emerald shook her head.
We ate our lunch and just talked about random stuff that came to mind. Just before we left Roxie tried to give me some money but I gave it back and walked off. She obviously wanted to pay but I wasn't gonna let her.
