Leahs pov

Ever since that day, she hasn't made any sort of contact with me. It was weird. She was so obsessed with me in the beginning. But now, now it feels like she doesn't care.

I don't think this is gonna work, but I need it to because of my father.

"Hey." Something simple.

I texted her and she immediately reads it. Oh my god. I would expect to take her a while before seeing anything from her phone, since she's so busy with her businesses.

"Hi"

Was all she said. I'm mean it's the bare minimum. I only said hey. So it doesn't require a lot to reply.

I'm overthinking this way too much.

"Whatcha up to?"

"Working.. you?"

I smile and bite my lip. She's working but still making time for me. Aww.

"At lunch. Why are you on your phone if you're working?"

"Cause I'm the boss ;)"

I smile stupidly. I could imagine her saying it, with her beautiful lips.

"I'll let you get back to work. Talk to you later."

"Okay baby."

I wanted to talk to her more but I knew I couldn't keep pushing. It would embarrass me more then do good.

It wouldn't make sense if I just out of the blue started this feeling of talking to her. Maybe she'll know something's up.

Later...

I put my phone in my little Fanny pack and put it on.

I wanted to go for a walk with Letty. She's been in the house a lot because I work all the time so I feel bad. Plus she loves to get out.

I walk out my apartment building and see thats it about to rain. I look down at Letty and see her excited about to go on a walk. I'd hate to ruin her excitement but I'd also hate to get wet right now.

I go on my phone to see when it will actually start raining. It says in about 15 minutes.

I look around and see if there's a possibility of us going on a very short walk, but I don't want to do that her.

"Sorry baby, we gotta go back in." I said to her and bring her back in.

"Oh no. No walk today?" The guy who works here opens the door for us. "Yea, it's about to rain. Maybe later." I said.

We get back inside my apartment when I heard my phone start ringing.

Blindly I go for it but I dropped it because I was holding Letty's leash.

"Fuck me." I sigh and pick it up.

"Hello?" I answer.

"Bad timing?" The voice said. I immediately knew who it was.

"Never for you." I laugh.

"Good, I'm calling because I'm in town and was wondering if you wanted to go for a bite?" She asks smoothly.

"Now? It's about to rain." I said and go to the window to look outside.

"We're not gonna be eating outside Leah." She giggles.

"Wait. You're in New York?" I ask just remembering she doesn't live here.

"Yes! I had to handle a couple of things, I know you live here so I was hoping we could have dinner." She says.
