I took the arm of my adoptive brother, Toya, and made our way down the aisle. Every step I took felt closer to my death. Rui's smirk felt devious and sinister as he stood by the priest who stood tall and all long white robes. I couldn't take it. I held back tears. Others probably thought they were happy tears, but it was a mask to hide the fact my only true love was a liar and unfaithful on this special day. I finally made it to where the ceremony shall commence. Rui looked at me with soft eyes and smiled; it was painful. I wanted to leave but the eyes of millions of people around me stopped me from running.
Anxiety filled me as I tried to hold my tears and internal screams. I looked around at my peers and back at Rui as the priest kept talking about his long speech, which I couldn't care less about at the moment. My mind was whirling. Rui looked joyful, but possibly his face was deceiving me. Maybe he was sad that I wasn't the one he wanted. He wanted the groomsmen in his bed. I took a minute to think over who it was in his bed. I looked back but I saw nobody that looked like that person.
Was it, not a groomsman? Was it a guest? Secret lover? Did I imagine it? Am I going crazy?
Everything was flashing in my brain; it felt dizzy like the world was empty... My breaths turn sharper till everything went dark...
You should've left... and ran far, far away...
