i couldn't speak. it was as if there was a lump inside my throat preventing me from speaking. as if my voice box has been ripped out and trampled on.
"sevyn" she repeated
i couldn't move. what did she mean by that? i mean i know what she means, but why is she asking that? what prompted it?
amauri walked over and took the phone from me before hanging up. not good. she's definitely going to be pissed off.
"it got out" he said
"what got out?" josiah asked
"sev being pregnant"
"what the fuck, how?"
"there's pictures"
"pictures?"
"someone caught pictures of him while we was outside. shit going viral on twitter, ig, tiktok. they even showin' it on the news. it was goin' around since last night, but i guess nobody knew who it was. someone who know sev recognized him this mornin', now niggas know who it is"
he pulled out his phone and turned it to show us. there it was. pictures of me standing on the side of the highway from the night we had to go pickup savion.
you'd think it'd be dark and unnoticeable, i mean that's what we thought that night. but between the street lights and the trucks bright white light, the picture was perfectly lit—a little grainy from being zoomed in, but still well lit. the blanket was wrapped around me, yes, but you could still tell.
scrolling down, i saw that there were multiple different angles. there were even pictures of me adjusting the blanket, showing a full on view of my stomach. i wished it stopped there. there was even a video. it was a short clip, but enough to prove that the photos weren't edited. shit.
"it's not lookin' good" amauri said
"not necessarily," josiah said "he can just say he fat or sumn. or that it was a fake stomach. i mean who gon' actually believe a nigga is pregnant based off a picture? shit gon' blow over, trust"
"thousands of people on twitter are actually believin' it. sev's name trending number one"
i went to check and he was right. but that wasn't all. i wasn't only trending #1. i occupied almost the entire top 10 trending in the country. each trending topic had something to do with me.
