Smoke rises from outside the walls as we emerge from the castle. Shouts from on top of the walls echo on the stones as archers fire.

The rest of our group has scattered about, assisting where they can. Some have helped barricade the gate while others are seen on the wall firing magic and other artilleries at whatever stands beyond.

Vyra takes a deep breath and releases it loudly before strutting forward. She calls forth her spear, and heads toward the stairs to the wall.

I glance down and call up my inventory screen. My fingers press on my armor and my swords. In the blink of an eye, I stand in my ebony armor with my twin swords on my back.

"Whoa," a guard gazes in amazement. "That takes me ten minutes to do."

"That is the joy of magic," Jez winks as she dons her standard look. A wine colored crop top, knee length leather skirt, gold belt, and ankle boots. All enchanted for fire resistance of course. She takes a deep breath as well and a shimmer begins at the tips of her hair. Radiant flames swirl through her hair and her emerald eyes glow brighter.

"Well I'm off," she waves before heading to the wall.

I glance back to find Zephyr in his black wind suit and Nyle in his leather and metal plate armor with broadsword drawn. Flint runs his hands through his silver hair before tying it back into a short ponytail. He dons his green leather jacket with his bow in one hand and two pistols peek out from inside his jacket. Flint and Zephyr both disappear onto a wall, leaving Nyle and I waiting on the ground.

"I'm not really sure what to do now," I shrug. "I've never been in a battle of this scale."

"We will probably just wait until ground fighting starts," Nyle shrugs. "For now it'll just be exchanges of distance fire. You could go up to the wall and block projectiles with wind if you wanted."

I purse my lips. "I should probably save my energy for when we have to fight."

Nyle nods before glancing toward the gate.

"If they advance to the gate, it'll be our job to take them down."

Something large smashes into the wall to our left and the ground shakes from the impact.

"Catapult?" Nyle shrugs, not seeming at all worried.

I narrow my eyes at the area it sounded like the impact happened. A small crack now slithers across the wall a few feet.

"I don't think it'll be good if they hit that spot again," I reply.

"Men," a guard shouts and points toward the crack in the wall. "Prepare to be breached!" Twenty guards head toward the crack in the wall and wait.

Just as they leave, I hear hissing and growling come from near the gate. Coming up the walkway runs an army of Lizardmen, and at their lead is a triceratops.

"Oh boy," Nyle raises his sword.

Arrows and fireballs rain down on the approaching army, but as many fall more take their place.

The triceratops barrels into the gate. Dust and sparks shoot up and crunching metal sounds. The beast snarls and backs up. A dent in the shape of a triceratops makes my eyes go wide. He backs up more before charging in for another blow. The Lizardmen snarl and cheer as the triceratops impacts with the gate once more, this time creating a small gap in the gates bars. Several Lizardmen stream through seizing the opportunity.

I take a deep breath, draw my swords, and jet forward with air beneath my feet. My right sword runs a Lizardman through before he can react. My second glances a sword away before it can cut my right leg. I swing my right sword in an upward right slash to take out another Lizardman.
