"Jez, this is May," Nyle gestures to me and I wave awkwardly. Flint steps to the side and I finally get a few of this Jez lady. She struts down the hallway like an Amazon with her light brown skin glowing in the sun shining from the skylight. Her hair is thick and wavy like melted chocolate and her eyes swirl a dark amber color. They gaze at me with a catlike curiosity.
"I hope you can pull your weight," she smirks and crosses her arms over her chest.
"Oh she does!" Nyle responds. "You should have seen her against the bandits we fought last night! They were from Black Viper!"
"Black Viper?" her eyes narrow and she purses her red painted lips. "Did you get any more power crystals?"
"No," Flint shakes his head. "We need to get on that."
"Well I'm back now so we can pull an all-nighter and see what we can find," Jez turns her gaze on Flint.
"Will that be alright for you?" Flint asks me.
"I'll text my mom and let her know. I'm sure she will just be thrilled that I'm spending time with friends," I grin and quickly type out a message.
"Got your gear?" Nyle asks and I hold up my backpack proudly.
"Never leave home without it," I laugh.
"Wow. Who are you and what have you done with Maylea?" he shakes his head in mock astonishment.
"Shall we hook up?" Jez questions with her eyes still on Flint.
"Like hook up to the game?" I raise and eyebrow and her eyes settle on me.
"Of course that's what I meant," her lips turn up into another smirk and I notice that Flint has turned a slight shade of pink. HardRock can blush? I blink in astonishment before following them into the living room. I plop my bag down and start to pull out my gear when I hear Jezebel unzip her sweatshirt. She lets it drop to the floor and stretches her arms over her head making it more obvious that she is standing there in only a hot pink sports bra.
"Wanna plug me in?" she casts a gaze over her shoulder at Flint and he obliges. "See you in the game." She winks and her eyes flash in my direction before putting down her visor. I glare at her knowing she can't see me and press my lips into an annoyed line.
"Want me to do you?" Nyle inquires holding up my electrodes.
"Yeah, go for it," I turn around and pull off my jacket. While Nyle is placing the electrodes I notice Flint gazing at us while he puts his own on.
"All set," Nyle presses the third one down and I thank him.
"The usual place?" I ask Flint before pulling my helmet on.
"Yeah, the usual," he nods.
"Start," I whisper and let the game pull me in.
"Wow, I forgot how hot it was here," Jez fans herself while we wait for the boys to appear.
"It's only like seventy degree," I smile sweetly and grip the zipper track of my jacket.
"Heh," she snorts. "I think I'll change into something more appropriate." She reaches out and moves her hand a few times. Just as Rocky and DyNyle appear she dresses in a black crop top and leather booty shorts. Her raven black hair catches the light and flickers like red coals in a fire.
"Good grief," I mutter and roll my eyes. "Does she really think that will attract Flint?"
"What was that?" DeNyle inquires upon joining me.
"Oh, nothing," I shake my head and pull my long braid over my shoulder. My fingers play with the violet ribbon before I let it fall.
"So where do you want to begin?" Jez question. "Mount Hazel?"
"Yeah, we haven't been there in a bit," Rocky nods. "Might be a good place to look for crystals."
"You'll want to put on some warmer clothes," Flint suggests to me and I shrug him off.
"I'm fine for now," I cross my arms and scowl. Flint sighs and holds out his fist. We each place our hand on top and then he teleports us away.
"That cave looks like a good place to start," Jez points after changing into a leather and fur combination outfit. Her hair is pulled back with a fuzzy headband to protect her ears. Snow swirls around us and my breath puffs out like smoke.
"It can get below zero out here," Flint warns. "Make sure you put on your warm gear." His eyes flash to me and I grudgingly do as he suggests. I put on my warm gear and relish in the feel of my cloak when it surrounds me.
"Well at least I don't have to worry about you freezing to death now," DeNyle grins.
"You don't have to worry about me," I smile at DeNyle. "I can take care of myself."
"Oh I know," DeNyle replies. "But that doesn't mean I can't worry."
"Are you two coming?" Jez turns her head to gaze in annoyance at us.
"Coming!" DeNyle replies and follows Jez and Flint into the cave. I trail behind and prepare for whatever we might find inside the cave.
