The king sits upon his throne with guards flanking him. The dark bags under his eyes crinkle up as he smiles upon seeing us enter his throne room.
"Our champions!" The king rises to his feet and others around the room follow suit. "You have brought us victory this day! We are finally rid of the Lizardmen scourge and our lands can once again prosper!"
Cheers sound from around the hall and more people fill the room from everywhere. Servants, knights, women, children, and our group of heroes.
"I hope the reward is good," Nyle claps his hand together.
"Too bad it'll probably just be Flint that receives one though," Birch shrugs. "Based on the last dungeon at least." He glances down at the shield bracelet on his arm.
A woman enters the room with a shimmery purple dress and a golden crown on her head. She looks to be around thirty-five with her brown hair just starting to turn gray.
"Thank you all for defending our kingdom," the woman, the queen, calls out in a rich voice from beside the king. "I have a gift for our hero." She steps forward while her dress makes a soft shhhh sound across the cobblestone. The queen stops before Flint with a gleam in her blue eyes.
"I, Queen Rosalba, bestow upon you this magical pendant," she holds out a silver pendant with a blue gemstone to Flint. "For finishing the leader of the Lizardmen."
Flint takes the pendant from the queen and a light flashes as he holds it in his palm.
"Thank you," Flint smiles at Queen Rosalba.
Queen Rosalba tilts her head before returning to the kings side.
"And now we feast!" The King calls out.
I blink and the king and queen are gone. Everyone who did not come here with us are also gone.
"I guess we did it?" Nyle glances around. "What does that do?" He points to the pendant in Flint's hand.
"It is a Pendant of Adaption," Flint pulls the leather chord over his head and lets the pendant rest on his chest. "It seems that no matter the environment I can adapt quickly. I think it would also let me breathe underwater."
"Huh," Nyle claps Flint on the back. "Well that's pretty cool. It's too bad its not a weapon or something though."
"I'm sure we will need it when we fight Cyberius," Flint tucks the pendant into his tunic and turns to look at Vyra.
"Good work everyone!" Vyra calls out. "Let us continue onward to victory against Cyberius!"
