"Koharu? Where are you?"
It was very strange this morning. Koharu hadn't shown up for class. That wasn't that concerning as she could just be sick, but the fact she didn't say anything at all to them about it was the issue. She would've at least texted them to say she wasn't coming to class today. So, why didn't she?
Suzu and Hisame had gone to her house to search for her. No one seemed to be home. That shouldn't be right. Koharu should be here, shouldn't she? Maybe she was just asleep?
"Shall we check her room?" Hisame suggested.
"Yeah. Maybe she didn't hear us." Suzu agreed.
The two of them went up to Koharu's room. Suzu knocked on the door and then opened it. She stepped into the room. Hisame was about to follow, but then Suzu stopped.
"Um..."
"What is it?" Hisame pushed her way into the room as well, "Huh?"
"Koharu...?"
This was not something they expected. And something that shouldn't be possible. Well... that was questionable considering some things they've seen on the stage. But, there was no logical explanation for what they were seeing.
Koharu was a... cat? A kitten, actually.
There was a cat on the bed. The cat looked like Koharu. Did that even make sense? How did a cat look like a person? Well, the cat just did remind them of Koharu a lot.
"Um... so... what do we do?" Suzu questioned as she walked over and took a seat on the bed.
"No idea..." Hisame replied.
The cat... Koharu pawed at Suzu's leg. Suzu looked down at her.
"We'll do our best to help you." Suzu said, "Though... I don't know what we can do..."
"Yeah... how do we get her back to human?" Hisame joined them on the bed.
"Maybe it'll just stop? Maybe tomorrow she'll be back to normal?" Suzu suggested.
"Is that okay with you, Koharu? If we just try and wait it out for a day?" Hisame asked her.
Koharu nodded, though she looked upset by that. Neither would blame her. She wanted to be human again now. She didn't want to have to wait. But, it honestly was the best thing to try first. Before taking any drastic measures.
"We better get to practice or else sensei will get mad." Suzu said, "Uh, should we take Koharu with us?"
"No animals in the school or dorms." Hisame replied with a stern voice, "She'll get taken away if we do that."
"Right... that's the last thing we need." Suzu sighed, "Guess we'll see you later, Koharu."
...
"Is Koharu sick?"
"Yeah. She's not feeling well so she's staying home today."
They felt bad about lying but honestly was the truth even believable? Who would actually believe that Koharu had somehow turned into a cat? They would be laughed at for saying that. It was safer to say that she was simply just sick.
"Very well. We'll start without her then."
Practice was weird. It wasn't often one of them was missing. But, nothing they could do about it. They also really just wanted this to be over so they could go back to Koharu.
