She had stayed out for far later than she planned. Because of that, Maya entered the dorms and expected to find no one still awake. It seemed that way as the entire common room was dark. Except, as she got closer to the stairs up, she noticed a faint light coming from nearby.
Maya didn't want to be in the dark for longer than needed, but curiosity got the best of her and she went to see what was making the light. There was a small table lamp still on in the room. Who had turned it on? How had they not turned it off?
Maya went to turn it of when she noticed a figure on the couch. Claudine. She was asleep. That was not a sight Maya had expected to see tonight. How had Claudine ended up like that? Why wasn't she in her room? What did she do about it now? Did she wake her up? Just leave her? Maya had no idea what to do. This was not a scenario she had ever planned to come across.
She walked over and knelt down beside the couch. Claudine looked peaceful. It would be a shame to disturb her, wouldn't it? Maya thought so. However it probably wasn't a good idea for her to sleep out here. Could she possibly carry her to her room? Was that a bad idea? She could probably lift her. She was pretty strong and Claudine couldn't be that heavy, right?
Maya was overthinking a lot of things right now. How couldn't she when it was Claudine. Her... crush. Maya had recently been told these feelings she was developing were because she liked Claudine. That was still hard to wrap her head around sometimes.
Maya took a deep breath. She was going to try and carry Claudine to her room. Hopefully not waking her up in the process. That would be bad. She did not need to be caught in this situation. After a bit of struggling, Maya found a way to pick Claudine up. She had to be very careful as to not disturb her. She stood still for a while, fearfully watching Claudine for any notion that she was waking up. Once she felt sure that Claudine wouldn't wake up, she began walking to her room.
It was a quiet walk. A slow one, too. Maya had to make sure she didn't do anything that could cause her to wake up. She couldn't imagine the embarrassment she would feel if that happened to her. She had to save her own image more than anything. This was not a scene that the Tendo Maya needed to get herself caught in by outsiders. This had to remain a secret from everyone, including Claudine if possible.
She was slowly coming up to Claudine's room. Soon this would be over. Soon she would be free to act as if this had never happened to her at all. Though... Claudine might question how she ended up back in her room tomorrow. That was something she could handle, though. She could easily hide the fact that she was the cause for it. That was a perk of being a very good actor. And since no one even knew when shehad gotten back, they couldn't say for certain she had been there at the same time as Claudine.
Maya carefully opened the door to her room and set her on the bed. She let out a sigh of relief and went to leave the room. She paused and glanced back at Claudine for a moment. She should probably throw a blanket over her or something, shouldn't she?
She shut the door and then went back to Claudine. She didn't need someone to accidently see her in here. Who knew who could possibly be out and about even for how late it was? They all had terrible sleeping habits.
Maya reached over and tugged a blanket across Claudine. She was about to pull away and leave, when a hand grabbed hold of her wrist and kept her from moving. Maya gulped. She had been caught. This was it. This was her end. She would never recover from this.
