"Don't mimick me!" She spits. "I'm a siren! No one dares mess with a siren!"

"Guess I'll be the first." I wink.

"Ugh!" She screeches. "You'll pay!" A ripple breaks her screams. Collin's head pops up above the water.

"Narina! Don't act like this! Or you won't your share in my catch!" He yells at her. Her eyes light up at the word "catch".

"What'd you get!" She squeals swimming over to him. A huge smile plastered on her face tightly.

"Jellyfish. Your favorite." Her smile grows wider than I ever thought possible.

"Question. Don't jellyfish sting?" I ask.

"Let me guess." Narina says dryly. Collin nods. "And...." Collin nods again. I roll my eyes at their strange telepathy.

"What? Tell me what she said." I order.

"Narina asked if I turned you because of the stupid question you asked and she asked if I turned you because you were my mate." He responds.

"What?!" I yell. "Oh no, no, no. No! I'm no one's 'mate', ok? I'm just Kena! The weird girl only her friends and family like!" I come to the sudden realization. It hits me like a knife straight to the heart. "Dinner." I whisper.

"What?" Narina asks.

"The night your brother took me, I was supposed to go to dinner with my friends at our favorite place." I say sadly.

"Aww, mortal miss her friends!" Narina says in a baby voice.

"Don't!" I growl a warning.

"What are you gonna do you helpless human?" She asks, still in her baby voice. I growl once more than lunge at her as fast I can.

"Don't talk about my friends! Ever!" I growl. I slap her as hard as I can. She falls to the side but regains her balance. She lunges for me. I put my hand up quickly as if that'll save me.

Narina freezes mid lunge.

"You're her!" Collin whispers.

"No time to talk about me, Collin! Your sister is frozen!" I yell. I drop my hand and scurry to shallow water, far away from Narina. He casts a short spell and Narina tumbles underwater.

"You!" She hisses when she gets up from under the water. "You are a disgrace to merkind! You will never be one of us!" Her seashell crown is practically glowing from the sunlight.

"You can't touch her, Narina. She's mine." Collin says swimming in front of me. I still don't agree that I'm his but I'm to scared to put up an argument.

"You can't protect her forever, Collin. I'll get her eventually!" She hisses slippin underwater and leaving us.

"Thank you. Collin." I say. He swims up to me.

"Don't mess with her, alright. She will kill you and she doesn't care if your with me or not." He says resting his hand on my cold arm. His hands are surprisingly warm.

"I know. Just hear me out." I tell him. "I don't take lightly to people talking about my friends that way. And if she ever and I mean ever does it again, you're not going to have a sister." I say sternly. He nods.

"I respect that." He says. He pulls himself next to me. "So, Kena. How old were you again?"

"16. And I don't believe I ever caught your age?" I say.

"139. But I was turned at 17 so I stayed that way."

"No way." I breath. "I have a question. Will you answer it?"

"Yes. Of course, Kena. Ask away." He says removing his hand. A chill runs through me. "Your cold." He says, taking my hand. I nod and he pulls m deep into the water. "Down." He nods.

I follow him to the deepest point in the water. We sit on some rocks that are next to each other. I stare at him and he stares back. I am starting to enjoy his company.
