Chapter 6

Joshua Harolds..? That name sounds familiar. "Joshua Harolds?" Then it hits, it hits like a bomb in my head. "Joshua Harolds is my dad!! He's a scientist!" I exclaim.

She looked shocked as she had said "Joshua Harolds was bit by my dad.." It's impossible my dad is in the house. "But how did he get bit? My dad is in the house right now. He's perfectly fine." I had said with total confusion. "Whatever! I'm not getting in the middle of this right now. I need to go explore some more.

I just got out of my house and was wanting to go before.." I muttered to myself "Your brother.." She looks at me, in fear, Scared to ask her next question. The rejection level was too much for her at that moment

"Maybe I can go with you? My brother won't hurt you, I promise" Then I look over at her brother, Disgust takes over my face. Then I see that he has.."A muzzle? Did you put that on him so he doesn't bite you?" I ask.

"Yes actually, He knows better." Know better? He's dead, How could he know better?  "Fine! You can go with me. Don't make me wait up on you." I said, I could even agree, the attitude was not needed.

"O-oh okay! I'll meet you at the coffee shop on Brimhall."

Finally, Now I can explore. By myself for a little bit at least. I start walking down the short back road. Then I realize, The 'walkers' are more active in the night time. I've seen some articles a couple months before this had happened. They are attracted to noise, So any little noise or even gun shot can bring thousands to me. I go into the forest, hoping for there to be a building of some sort so I could explore.

I hear branches snapping throughout the forest. I run, I run as fast as I can. I see a road up the way. I hear more branches snapping behind me, I freak out. I turn around pointing a stick at the noise.

"Where are you? I hear you, you're not scaring me! I have a stick and I'm not afraid to use it on you!!" I yell. It starts running and it gets closer and closer. Finally it just jumps out at me. "AHH!" I yell. I start hitting it with my stick "Ow, ow! Stop! That hurts! I was just trying to have fun, You ruined it!" The girl had said.

I finally opened my eyes and it wasn't the girl with the Zombie brother, but another? She had short black hair. She was about average height, really pretty too. "Who the hell are you?!" I yell at her. I felt really bad after that, She looked kinda sad. "

Oh sorry. I didn't introduce myself. How rude of me." I look at this girl with the most disgusted and confused look on my face. "Alyssa. Doesn't really fit me, I know." "No no, It's a beautiful name. I like it. My name is Izzy. I'm going to the Cafe on Brimhall. I don't know where it is tho-" She cuts me off. "Oh! That girl came up to you too? She told me to meet her there too!" She puts a really big smile on her face, grabs my hand and starts running to the street light I had seen before.

"Wait. The coffee shop?" She stops eminently "That place has been so over filled with walkers. We'll never make it there" I look at her and then look in the direction of the Cafe. Shit. "Will we really not make it? You don't have a car or something?"

She laughs. "No? I don't even know how to drive." I start getting annoyed. Then, A branch snaps. We freak out. I hold my stick up and she holds a crossbow. She looks down at me and takes my stick and throws it near the noise.

She pulls out a pocket knife and hands it to me. "I don't know how to use this though!" I say. "It's fine you don't need to know. Just let me do it." I take a step back and she starts to yell out "What are you doing!? They're attracted to noise!" I had said but then she snaps back.

"This could be a walker! This is why I don't like meeting other people. Now shut up!" I look at her and smile. "I like you Alyssa. That was nice." I say sarcastically.
