Recently I've been having migraines, Maggie says it's from all the stress

"Here you go, sweetie," Maggies offers me some of her tea that she made, "It will help with the migraine."

"Thank you Maggie," I say, taking the cup, she turns to leave, "Will you sit with me?"

"Alright,' she sits across from me, "Come on, Alexandra tell me what's got your soul so low?"

"I don't want to burden you," I blow on the tea. 

"You aren't a burden, tell me."

"It's papà and the Mafia, Aldo, Evie."

"I know you can't tell me about whatever is going with the Mafia, but you can tell me about Carlo's, you know I think that I'd understand how you are feeling."

"I miss him, I didn't think that I'd being running things, without him." She holds out her hands, I set down the cup.

"I loved him," what did she just say?

"What?"

"I loved your papà," Of course she did, how did I not see it before, "We were in love, he wanted to tell you but he didn't know how you'd take it,"

"He was in love with you and he was worried about me?" I feel my eyes getting wet, "I just wanted him to be happy and he was but he didn't tell me,"

"Oh he wanted to really."

"And now, he might never tell me because-" I stop, I can't think about that day "Maggie, they say he's not going to wake up,"

"I know,"

"How am I supposed to take over without him, I don't know what to do." Maggie moves over to me and pulls me into a hug, "I can't do this."

She cups my face, a sad smile on her face.

"I've been in this life so long so has your papà, we have both have lost...so so very much. loved ones, but there was one person we both loved so much. Alexandra you are that person,"

"I can't lose him, Maggie."

"I can't lose him either but," she takes my hair and starts to play with it, "You are his daughter and that means you are stronger than anything that comes your way, you will learn how to run your fathers Mafia and you will be the best leader, there will be people who try to kill you but you will never let them, you hear me," I nod, "All the power you will have it will change you, it has a price."

"A price?"

"Yes, the price your papà and I didn't want you to pay, it makes you cold and heartless,"

"Papà wasn't like that."

"Not around you, he always hide it from you but, when he took over for you grandfather it changed him, it will change you." something in her scares me she turns me around and looks deep into my eyes "You will kill with Roberto and I will be there every step of the way."

"Promise?" 

"Promise."

There was something off with Alex, she hasn't texted me back in a few days and that wasn't like her, I was starting to worry about her especially with what happened with her dad, I asked Gabe to keep an eye on her and what he told me made me worry even more.

"Every time I try and talk to her, she finds a reason to leave as fast as she can."

She doesn't want to talk to me or Gabe, so instead of waiting for her to reach out to me, I'm going to talk to her today.
