Diary of a Nevermore Student

October (Part 1)

14th October:

So I've been out of action for a while. I got injured during a fencing class, clumsy me tripped over my own feet trying to dodge Bianca's move and I fell and fractured my shoulder. I was in the medical wing for nearly two weeks with my arm in a sling. My friends came to visit a few times but Larissa came to see me every day. She even shapeshifted into my "aunt" a couple of times just so she could kiss me on the cheek. Sweet.

I gave her the keys to my room so she could let herself in to get my diary. We couldn't risk it being found by anyone while I was stuck in the hospital wing. She kept it in the safe in her office and when she returned it to me it had a small padlock fixed on it. I wonder if she took another peek?

The Rave'N is coming up this month and I still don't have a date or an outfit! I really want to go with Larissa but obviously we can't do that. I'd love to walk in with her on my arm though. While I was recovering I came up with a plan to make this happen. If she says she is ill and can't attend this year, she can shapeshift into a random girl and go with me as my date! It's risky but hopefully it will work. I'll run it by her tomorrow.

16th October:

A few hours ago I got an unexpected visitor.
"Hello" said Wednesday, "may I come in?" I couldn't tell what she wanted, she never showed her emotions. Ever.
"Hi. Um...yeah sure" I replied and stepped aside to let her in. She walked to the middle of the room and turned around to face me.
"Are you having a relationship with Principal Weems?"
WHAT THE HELL?! Where has this come from?! How does she know?!
"What? No!" I lied.
She folded her arms, "you are, aren't you?"
"No!"
"I knew it."
"Wait, why do you think I'm sleeping with Weems?!"
"I didn't ask if you were sleeping with her. I asked if you were having a relationship with her."
Shit. She got me there.
"W-well...either way I'm not."
She narrowed her eyes. Analysing me.
"She visited you a lot when you were in the hospital. She wouldn't do that for just any student."
"Maybe she was worried I'd sue the school" I joked.
There was a pause. Further analysis.
"Enid said she was acting weird when she went to her office the other day and heard some very strange noises".
"Maybe she was practising her vocal scales?"
"Hmmm..."
She was still unconvinced and stared me down with her cold eyes, waiting for me to crack. She looked down at my feet, they were starting to disappear. Shit! She knew she was making me nervous with her questioning.
"Do you have a date for the Rave'N yet?" she asked.
"Not yet no. Do you?"
"Yes, Xavier asked me."
We all knew he would.
"Good, I think he really likes you".
I could have sworn I saw a flicker of a smile.
After another pause she said "I just wanted to tell you to be careful...and that your secret is safe with me."
I didn't know what to say but she could see right through me. Literally.
She headed towards the door, taking another look at my fading legs.
"I'll see you later" and she left.
Crap.

At around 6pm I went to Larissa's office.
"Hello darling" she cooed as I entered, "I've missed you".
"I've missed you too".
"How are you feeling today?"
"Better, but I'm still a little stiff".
"Hmm well I can think of a few ways to loosen you up."
She was such a tease!
"Ooo I like the sound of that! But I do actually need to speak to you".
I sat down in the chair in front of her desk.
"Oh?" she closed her laptop and leaned in closer, concerned.
"I think Wednesday Addams is suspicious. She came to see me earlier and asked if there was anything going on between us."
"What did you say?"
"I said no, but I have some telltale signs don't I?"
I raised my hand, turned it invisible then back again.
"Ah I see", she seemed lost in her thoughts for a minute. I couldn't tell if she was panicking or planning.
"Well I won't speak to her yet because she will know you have told me, which will look even more suspicious. But we need to throw her off the scent".
"I think I might have a way we can do that..." and I explained my plan for the upcoming Rave'N.
She listened intently and after some consideration she agreed to it! I was ecstatic!
"Now as much as I would like you all to myself darling, you should probably spend some time with your friends today."
"OK. I'll definitely see you tomorrow though" I picked up my bag and headed to the door.

Before I left I turned around and said: "I really do want to go to the Rave'N with you you know, not just to throw Wednesday off. I just wish we could go as we are."
It was true. I wanted her to know that I wasn't just using her, I care about her and I think she cares about me in some way too. She smiled her warm loving smile and said "me too my love." My love? That's a new one.

18th October:

I had another good night's sleep last night. I dreamt about dancing with Larissa at the Rave'N in her normal form. I say "normal" but her beauty is extraordinary. God I really hope this plan works!

My shoulder is starting to feel much better now. Larissa massaged it for me last night...among other things. Turns out her body was quite stiff too, so of course I helped her to "relieve some tension".
