...Zombies.

I couldn't believe my eyes. I froze. My body wasn't responding to the current thoughts that happened through my mind. I reacted until somebody screamed my name from the classroom. I saw Savannah picking up some bottles.

I had this urging feeling that something really bad was going to happen if I let Savannah outside. I pulled her from her arm and thrusted her inside the classroom, and quickly shut the door.

Everybody asked me scared what happened, I didn't answer.

Audrey's POV

"No! You simply don't understand!" said Audrey sobbing.

"If I only knew what's the terrible thing I did, I would understand maybe!" said Joseph.

"Oh really? You don't know what you did? I thought you would be different." said Audrey.

"What is it? Tell me please." urged Joseph, almost in a whisper.

"Didn't you notice I was watching you with your ex? You were hugging her so tightly. Tell me, do you still love her?" asked Audrey.

"Really? Do you really think that? After 1 month of being together, you ask that! You know I only love you, nobody else." said Joseph.

"Well, that's exactly what I am trying to say. We've been together for 1 month now, we've been  friends for months, and it seems you still love her!" said Audrey.

"Chill dudes!" interrupted Connor.

Everybody went silent. We couldn't hear the lousy noises that were coming from the soccer courtyard because of our argument. Someone looked out the classroom and noticed a strange creature running toward the other part of the building.

He closed the door. Joseph, quickly grabbed a chair and broke a window.

"Come on, jump! I'll come right after you!" shouted Joseph.

I jumped. It was a surprise to me to find myself and Joseph safe. Connor was lucky to get out of the classroom. To my presentiment, everybody now seem to be dead.

Adora's POV

I asked everybody to help me push the lockers aside the door to cover the entrance. Nobody knew what I saw exactly, but they certainly knew that it was awful. Some people kept putting chairs and tables by the door.

They asked me once again,

"What was it? What did you see?". I sighed.

The answer startled them, they couldn't believe what I was saying, actually, neither did I.

I told my classmates to break all the windows, and place their desks beneath them. I tried to calm them down, but it seemed that they were losing their sanity, one by one.

I was scared as well, but I was trying to be strong. There was this gigantic tree that would help us get from the window to the ground where we will be landing on the soldiers land. Yes, soldiers have a building near the school.

My friend Ming, who was extremely exasperated, quickly ran toward a window and jumped, thinking that she would save her life without any risk.

This might be very selfish but, I only cared for my friends and me. I told them to be careful in the fall. The first ones to jump were Sidney and Mathew. And then Ava and Savannah jumped. I wanted to be the last one to jump, to keep my friends safe...to have company in the worse.

When I finally jumped I saw by the corner of my eye, several people wanting to jump also. One was this girl, the one she always wanted to be with me, Marie...when I fell inside the soldiers land, I notice that there was this girl, yes Marie dead, I found her unconscious.

A sudden bad feeling came to me, I sighed at Marie, doesn't that mean that I can find any of my friends the same way?

To my relief, they were all there, my friends were not that hurt, but  I noticed they were others wounded, some more than others, but they were alive, and that's all that matters.

We looked by the horizon, I believe it was past noon. Why did the sky look so beautiful, while horrible things were about to befall?

We looked to each other, like if we didn't know what to do next. Not until we heard some voices, not far away.

We encountered with Connor, Audrey and Joseph. We appeared to be a little contented, as we found more friends.

We almost forgot that this was the army, before we even notice we were sorrounded by soldiers. I pressed our back to each other, we holded hands. Will we be killed right now?

Connor was at my left so my left hand was holding his, Savannah was at my right. A soldier walked to us, he seemed to be like the leader or whatever.

"What are you kids doing here?" he asked.

"We're not kids." Joseph replied.

"Shut up," I demanded. "Something terrible happened"

"What?" he asked.

"The apocalypse. Is here" Sydney said.

He laughed. Everyone laughed. "Kids, this is no time fo jokes. C'mon and tell ma the truth".

We stared at each other. His grammar was horrible, so was his vocabulary.

"This is the truth." Matthew said.

Before the coronel could say anything, one of the soldiers came running and whispered something on his ear.

His eyes opened like if he ate something spicy and run to the front land, he turned back and with a huge ego he said.

"Hurry up, they are not liars. Hurry, everyone pick seven kids and put them inside the tanks. Hurry up." he shouted.

Connor, Sydney, Audrey, Ava, Matthew, Savannah, and me were picked. Sadly Audrey and Joseph were separated, he wanted the best for her so he whispered in her ear before they were forced to leave.

"I love you, and always will, just promise me that if I don't come back, you will wait for me. It doesn't matter when or where, you'll just wait for me. Yes?"

"You'll be fine, but you must promise to come back. Please." she said firm but sad at the same time.

We waited for about twenty minutes, we all knew that Joseph wouldn't come back, we just wanted to prove ourselves wrong. Audrey burst into tears.

Everybody slowly entered the tank, Audrey being the last, waited and observed the entrance, just to find herself devastated by the ugly truth.

One of the soldiers came with us. He was tall and brave. He said that he'll drive. We noticed something weird, but none of us said a thing.

He drove and for a while we felt good. While he drove out of the place, I was scared. What if we die? There were five tanks. But something wrong was with one.

It seemed like if it just stopped working...
