Butterflies ♡《Sigma X reader》

Twenty • One

   Dazai seemed relaxed for the most part, even though he was challenged to complete a journey through this prison in 30 minutes so that he could survive the poison injection both he and Fyodor shared. Sigma and you were more than anxious, to say the least. You were in the same place that you two have been in for what seemed like forever, following behind Dazai, who insisted that you, him, and Sigma visit the prison kitchens to grab dessert. Both you and Sigma were against it, trying your best to persuade Dazai into starting the challenge so that he could possibly get a head start to Fyodor, who seemed to have not moved either. This confused both you and Sigma. Surely Dazai wanted to beat Fyodor, and Fyodor surely wanted to beat Dazai. So why were they both stalling? It didn't make any sense. Then again, what they do never makes the least amount of sense. Sigma was beyond irritated at this point, and all you could do was watch as he continuously tried to get Dazai to see reason. But it didn't matter how hard he tried. The brunette still insisted on anything but starting the challenge. Soon enough, you were starting to become irritated as well.
   Sigma slowed his pace, releasing a deep and tired sigh once he was beside you once more.

    "He won't listen, it's like he can't even hear me" he explained with disbelief, crossing his arms over his chest. You stayed silent and kept your gaze forward. Sigma seemed to notice your tense state and walked closer to you, confusion visible in his expression.

   "What's wrong? Is everything alright?" He asked, grabbing your attention. You glanced up at him and shrugged.

    "What are we doing?" You said finally, shaking your head as you stared hard at the back of Dazai's head. Sigma clicked his tongue, glancing at Dazai as well for a moment.

     "I.. I don't know? What do you mean?" He asked, turning back toward you with curiosity.

     "I mean, what are we doing here! We're here, trying to get this-" You paused, motioning toward Dazai, who was now glancing curiously over his shoulder at the two of you.

    "This idiot to see reason! I mean the world is in danger! People are dying! The world is, or already has gone to shit. If we were trying to save it, save the ones we care about. We've already failed." Dazai had stopped walking and so had Sigma. You glanced back and forth between them.

     "And you!" You pointed at Dazai. "Won't take this stuff seriously! Your people are suffering and trying their best to save their city and the world and you're setting them up like their lambs for slaughter!" Dazai's expression, for the first time in a while, stayed blank. Sigma, however, stared at you with complete awe and surprise. You shook your head, walking over to Dazai and grabbing him by the arm.

   "I believe you're smart, probably smarter than all of us. But you also need to be less cocky, otherwise something big might slip from you're grasp and then we will all really go to hell" You pulled him along with you toward the large white doors at the other end of the room, Sigma following closely behind.
