Violet Rose:
"And I obviously was naive enough to trust him and went there. You will not believe me when I tell you I got grounded for three months." grandma laughs as we all listen to her telling a story about her and grandpa sneaking out to go to a party when they were younger. Grandpa died a year ago but my grandmother is taking it better than any of us. I mean she always tells us to never run after a man but I didn't think she'd take it that serious.
We've already eaten and are right now just talking at the table while the sun is slowly beginning to set. By now it has gotten colder and somehow I find myself snuggled up next to Logan as we share a small blanket. It's just an act, don't freak out.
"Okay no but seriously Logan I want to know more about you and Violet, so go ahead and spit it out." everyone's attention drifts towards us but Logan never stops rubbing my back which calms me down way more than it should. "Well, what would you like me to tell you." he takes a sip of his drink, leaning more into his chair as he pulls the blanket over us so it covers all of my body again since it had slipped before.
"What exactly do you want from my granddaughter, Logan?" grandma rests her chin on the palm of her hand as everyone grows quieter, looking at Logan.
I lift my head from his chest, looking up at him to see him thinking while licking his lips. Thinking of a lie. I almost go to change the subject when he stays quiet for a while but before I can even open my mouth he beats me to it.
"I just need her to love me." I freeze at his answer. I expected anything but love.
Love is an extremely strong word. I don't love Logan, no of course not, I know that. We don't know each other long enough for that. I mean yeah, I have a crush on him but having feelings for someone and loving someone, those are two completely different things.
So him saying he wants me to just love him, even if it's all fake, caught me of guard and I find myself being speechless. I never noticed how serious he takes our little deal but I think all his lies are working. Because even if it hurts, everything he's saying those are all lies. He's just doing this to trick my parents and everything between us is fake. Doesn't matter if I don't want it to be, he doesn't like me and that's it.
"Elaborate please." my dad joins the conversation and I can tell he's impressed by the answer. Normally dad was always the one to ask that question and my past boyfriends, all gave him boring answers but this is something different.
"Well, all I need from her is to show me she loves me and I need her affection, I can do the rest." he has the straightest face in human history but something flips in my stomach when I watch him never break I contact with any of the others. He's acting like this is completely normal and that he does this every second day.
