Izzy laid on his back, in his bed, in the summer heat. His bare back stuck to his sheets with sweat. He turned his head to find it was now 2 in the afternoon. He was surprised that his mother hadn't come into the room yet, to drag him out of bed.

Speaking of that...his door opens. Izzy quickly shuts his eyes, hoping his mother would leave him alone if she thought he was sleeping. He heard some shuffling of feet on his carpet before it went quiet. He didn't dare open his eyes, thinking if he did he might find his mother standing over him, trying to see if he is actually asleep or not.

"Izzy..." A soft voice said from beside his bed. He knew that voice anywhere! It was Axl Rose, his best friend. Izzy didn't show any signs he was awake. Axl sighed and gently got on Izzy's bed, sitting next to him. "Izzy.." Axl cooed while stroking Izzy's brown hair gently.

It wasn't weird for the two since they usually show each other a normal amount of affection that best friends do. Hell, they cuddle sometimes.

"Izz, I'm bored. Wake up." Axl sighed lightly. Izzy quickly sat up, yelling "Bang!" Suddenly Axl's hand stopped touching Izzy's hair, flying into the air as he jumped and screamed. "I totally got you!" Izzy said through laughs. "You're such an asshole." Axl rolled his eyes and shoved the shoulder that Izzy was propping himself up on.

"Come on, don't be a sourpuss about it." Izzy mocked a pout at him. "I'm not." Axl lied with a perfectly irritated expression on his face. "Yeah, right. You wanna go to the pool, sourpuss?" Izzy asked. "Stop calling me that!" Axl ignored the question.

"Then stop being one. Are you coming or not?" Izzy stood up and got in his drawers for swim trunks. Axl didn't respond. "Silent treatment, huh?" Izzy raised his eyebrows with a cocky smile before changing into his trunks. Axl sat on the bed, his arms crossed.

Izzy sighed, "Do you wanna go to the pool or not, Ax?" Axl stood up, "I will now. Can I borrow trunks?" Axl asked. Izzy shook his head with a little laughter before pointing to the dresser, giving Axl a non-verbal go ahead. Izzy waited for Axl on the couch. When Axl got out of Izzy's room he stood up and knocked on his mothers open door.

"Yes, honey?" His mother asked. Izzy made a face at that. "Me and Ax are gonna go to the pool. We might stop by Duff's to see if he wants to go." Izzy informed her. "Okay. You know the rules. Start heading home-"

"When the streetlights come on. Got it." Izzy finished his mothers sentence. "Take your brothers with you." His mom added. "Mom!" Izzy whined. Axl couldn't help but attempt to stifle a laugh at Izzy's protests.

"Shut up! Go wait outside!" Izzy ordered Axl. "Fine. If that's what you want. See ya later, Miss Isbell." Axl laughed one more time before hearing "Goodbye Bill" and stepping outside.

Izzy lived in an apartment building, so obviously he wasn't going all the way outside. While the apartment was small, they made the best of it. Izzy's younger brothers, Joe and Kevin, shared a room and slept on a bunk bed. Izzy got his own room since he was the oldest. Their rooms were right next to each other. It didn't help that the walls were paper thin either; Izzy occasionally had to slam his fist against the wall when his younger brothers ruff-housed in their shared room. Outside of their rooms there was the living room and another door that lead to the smallest room, their mothers room. Then there was the living room with a small tv; it was small but it worked for them (that's what she said). A bathroom that everyone shared was between Izzy and his brothers rooms; they often fought for who would go first. Lastly, there was the kitchen. It had small brown cupboards lining the ceiling of the small room. Under the cupboards was a black and white oven with a usually clean stovetop, unless Izzy tried making something; that something always ended up looking like burnt, dead dog meat.
