Yuna was jolted awake by the sharp ring of her phone in the quiet of her dorm room. Groggily, she reached for it, squinting at the screen. Hyunjoo. She answered, her voice thick with sleep.
" Get up and get dressed," Hyunjoo said urgently. " There would be a press conference happening today."
Yuna sat up, confusion etched on her face. " What? A press conference? Why?"
Hyunjoo's tone was clipped as he explained, " My father's behavior last night having a fit in the kitchen and firing the cooks—made it into the news. It's all over Korea now, and it's causing problems. His negotiations with the Miller Empire might fall apart if we don't show up and do some damage control."
Yuna swung her legs over the bed, still dazed. " And what good is it, if I'm there?" She asked, rubbing her temples.
Hyunjoo sighed, clearly frustrated. " Well, as you are the only granddaughter of the Park family, whose been upholding their legacy for over 40 years of charity work, helping those in need, and supporting orphanages. That reputation is admirable to the public, and If the public knew I've been dating someone respectable, someone who represents humility and kindness, it could help fix the damage caused by my father's actions."
Yuna groaned, lying back against the pillow. " I told you, our deal is off."
" Please, Yuna." Hyunjoo begged, his tone softer now. " My father found out about my ex, and he's threatening to use that against me if I don't bring you to the press conference."
Yuna sighed in frustration, running a hand through her hair. " Fine, but you owe me for this." She muttered, dragging herself out of bed. She grabbed some clothes and headed toward the bathroom.
" Be ready in ten minutes. We're picking you up from the dorm." Hyunjoo said before the call ended.
Yuna groaned again but stepped into the shower, mentally preparing herself to play her part once more.
