12. Surprise

"Sofia, goddamn. Will you stop running?!" Adrian pants dragging his feet trying to catch up.

"I'm sorry, I haven't been at a water park since I was eight. The excitement it just all too much!"

"Well, try control it! I can't keep up."

"How can you not. You're just being lazy, you were a quarterback back in school. Get your lazy ass here!" I say waiting for him to catch up.

"I'm gonna get us a seat, how about you get me some ice cream?" I demand.

"Controlling." Adrian smirks.

"Get over yourself, you're such a kid!" I slightly push him, leaving him to chuckle.

I look all over the place but it seems to be packed. Well, it just opened so I don't expect less. I see a bench on the other side of the park.

While I'm sitting, I scroll through my phone waiting for Adrian with my ice cream. I know, he's a darling for suggesting it. I feel a tap on my shoulder and I see ths most beautiful thing in the world. Adrian and my ice cream, I don't think I can pick while is more beautiful. Joking, yes I can.

Plain vanilla with caramel and sprinkles.

"You remembered?!" I gasp.

"Yep. Not like you wouldn't stop talking about it." I smiles.

"I'm sorry you had to go through that, but it was worth it." I smile at my ice cream.

We spend the ten minutes talking and laughing wholst eating our ice cream. Mine was great, Adrian got a plain vanila with chocolate coating. He forced me to have some just so he could taste mine. Personally, I don't like it. But he seemed to enjoy mine. He ate half of it! We argued and later made up when he bought me another one.

"You're such bae." I smile.

"For the ice cream?"

"Duh." I say in an obvious tone.

He chuckles.

"I need the bathroom, I'll be back." I say getting up for the bathroom.

Once I'm done using the bathroom, I look into the mirror as I try fix up my hair Adrian wouldn't stop ruffling. I hear the door open and close shut. What grabs my attention is the click after. Someone just locked the door with me in it. I quickly look over to the door to see a surprise.

"James." I say in horror as I drop my phone to the ground in disbelief.

"It's been a while, Sofia. But I'll get us out of here, as we speak there's a jet I hired waiting to fly us to New York. Sofia, we'll get out of here and no one will ever find us. Start our own family and even a business. A fresh start, Sofia." He takes my hand.

"No." I slide my hands out of his.

"W-What do you mean no?!"

"I don't want that. I don't want to start afresh. I don't want to start a family with you. Definitely not in New York, you know that I want one in California. You never listen. I-I want Adrian."

He clenches his fist and he turns red in anger. I think I just infuriated him. He takes a shotgun from the pocket. Well, that's it for me.

"I'm just going to have to kill you then myself, Then we can do it in heaven. Together."

"Well, we're going to two very different places if we ever die. Plus, I don't think you'll be able to kill me." I smirk.

"Why's that?"

"Because there's always a back up plan."

The FBI and police hit the door down. Pulling up with guns and so much more. As they try catch James who kept trying to run away. Adrian runs in hugging me tightly.

"Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine, he didn't even do anything."

"I'm just happy you're okay."

Adrian hugs me even tighter. James glares at me then Adrian.

"You'll get what you deserve! Betrayal!" James yells.

"Save it for the court." A FBI agent says taking him out of the room.

A few police officers interview me. They add how he is going to appear in court and I was going to be there since it's a case of attempted murder. Yep, that's me. I was happy we were going to stop this private location nonesense and go back to my normal life with my mom, Wendy and Teyana.

I missed them so much.
