Magic

An: Also this will be a short chapter so we can get back to the main plot(aka Jean and Fushiguro's POV's.)  Also same spoilers from the last chapter.

POV: Reiner Braun

"Ok. Jea-"

And in that moment, a circle light began to shine.

"What the hell is this Fushiguro!!!?" Someone yelled. Jean! "We might be going back to Japan!!!" Fushiguro yelled in a tone of glee.
"What is this Japan you speak-"

And in a moment faster than before, they disappeared.

"Aggghhhhhh!!!"

Shit! That light! It blew off our gear. "Aghhh! Grab on!" I re-attached my gear to the branch my feet were set upon. Mikasa, who stood a foot away from me, also did the same, quicker than me though.

After we all collected our selves, we took a moment for silence. "Wh-what was that?" Was the question we all had on our minds. "I don't...." Hange trailed off. Know. None of us know what the hell is going on. Me included. What am I supposed to tell Annie and Bertholdt? Hey guys, the guy we were chasing after disappeared into thin air! And the Marleyans will be even worse about this. Either they will think i am full of shit because we failed our mission, or they do believe me and want him solely so they no longer have to use us Eldians and all the Marleyan Eldians will be exterminated.

"Magic! They must've used Magic!" Nanaba exclaimed. "But that doesn't exist!" Moblit yelled back. "So disappearing like that does!?" The section commander went to the place they disappeared in and stabbed his sword into the tree. "Miche!?" Hange said. "There is no secret door underneath here. They really must've gone through." He practically mumbled.

"Let's go. We must head back now! The Garrison soldiers can not wait any longer." Miche commanded as we all went back to the horses. "W-what was the flash of light!?" Erik questioned. "The light was a portal that took Fushiguro and Jean with it." Hange explained How can he believe us with such an explaination?!" Erik looked at all of our faces. "As much as i do not believe that, your faces tell me you are telling teh truth." He said, now with the face we all shared.

Complete and utter shock.

"You lot can go rest for the night. We'll go to the commander." Miche instructed as he and Hange went into the scouts base outside Trost. The other three waved and said their goodbyes before leaving in the same direction. Mikasa and I both silently walked towards the cadets quarters. Well our new one in a nearby town since Trost got destroyed.

She is as quiet as ever. But I suppose once she sees Armin she'll have a lot to say about this situation. What do I even have to say about all this? I still haven't thought of any practical way to tell Bsrtholdt and Annie without sounding fucking crazy. What do I say? Hey! The kid had magic powers! Or how about, theres a newer power source, the Marletans gave no need for us now! They will fucking kill us all!

I have to be serious. But this situation is just so unserious. I can't handle this. But no one would fault me for how I handle this. Marcel would not know how. Neither would Zeke. Or anyone really. This has never happened before. And I sure as hell know the commander probably doesn't know how to handle this.

"Mikasa!" Armin? Oh, we are here. I looked up to see the heads of Armin and the others stucking there heads out. They all look like they want answers. Especially those two.

We quickly entered the building to see they were already half way down the stairs to see us. "Did you guys find them?" Tomas asked. "Let's go back upstairs first. There are too many people here." Mikasa said. The group relented and we headed back up the staircase.

"So...what happened?" Armin asked when we were in a secluded area.
"Did you find Jean!?" Connie yelled excitedly. "Is he hurt?" "Did you find Fushiguro?" We both looked at each other. Mikasa nodded her head telling me to speak first. "No. They are gone. We found no traces of them." I spoke. "It was a dead end. Jean is gone, forever." Mikasa added to the horror and sadness that plagued their faces.

Damn the scouts.

(Third POV)

"So you told them to lie?" Erwin asked the two section commanders. "Yes sir. Like you asked." The large nosed one replied. "And a good thing too. Otherwise, I do not know what the hell the news we have would do to the populas." The woman added. "Not to mention we already had a bit of an uprising with some scouts earlier over that boy." The short one muttered.

"So, what did you find that you think would shake up society?" The commander asked the pair. "Fushiguro and Jean disappeared into a glowing portal." The lady explained. The commander and captin both looked at her with complete disbelief. "No. That is not possible. Are you sure it wasn'-"
"There was no trap door. I checked. Plus we had Moblit placed on the same tree as them a bit below to see if they would try and escape from there."

"So what you are saying is.....He had Magic?"

The pair looked at each other before looking back at their commander. "We are unsure of it. But we assume so, yes." The commander sat quietly for a moment before speaking. "That is all i need to know. Thank you."
