In the days that followed the tense family dinner, the atmosphere in the opulent Ruya mansion felt heavy with unspoken tension. Kamari's decision to defy her father's wishes had set off a chain reaction, and the entire household seemed to be on edge.
Although Kamari kept up their hidden relationship with Kentrell, the strain of doing so was getting to her. She wanted for the ability to openly love without worrying about the adverse effects. "I can't keep living like this," Kamari said, her voice tinged with frustration.
"I want to be with you, Kentrell. Im sorry I cant invite you over for dinner with my family, or to be around. They won't accept us."
Kentrell held her close, "They opinions on me don't matter so dont stress on it, ite?"
