. : Laura of Neverland : .
Max was acting weird.
Laura watched her former second-- now the current leader of the Twilight Children-- shuffle from foot to foot. The Twilight Children had kept their masks and hoods on, presumably because of Sebastian. Laura didn't begrudge them for it; she knew most of them by voice anyways.
She had spent an hour last night talking with them, getting caught up. Laura was partly relieved to be back in Neverland. Her magic had been humming with excitement all night. Still, the other part of her wanted to return to the world, away from the isolated little island that had kept her from the lively world for the past decades.
She stood now, waiting slightly behind Max, allowing her to lead. Max's second-- a boy named Emrys-- stood on the other side of Max. Laura was aware of Sebastian behind her, his scent enveloping her.
Max glanced at her, and then back at the prince behind her. Laura frowned. She needed to speak to Max. Something was bugging the girl.
Laura shifted her attention to the rest of the clearing. They were right on the edge of the water, where the Mermaid Queen waited in the shallows, and nearby, the head of the Pixies hovered, a bright light glinting off of his wings.
Laura had to give Max credit for how fast she organized the leaders of Neverland. The speed at which they had mobilized was astonishing.
The bushes rustled to the right, and Laura glanced over as the Crocodile King strode in. She smiled, and ducked her head in respect, nudging Sebastian to get him to do the same.
"Laura, lovely to see you again," His voice was deep, with a hint of humour. A small entourage followed him, sunlight glinting off of their pine-green hides.
Laura nodded once, switching into the thick gravelly crocodile language. "You haven't aged a day,"
There was a small sound of chuckles at the greeting. The Pixie fitted towards them, pausing in the centre of the haphazard circle they had formed.
"We are here on request of Max of the Twilight Children, who has informed us that a former Twilight Child, Laura, and her...companion, Sebastian of Havfrue, have come with a warning."
Laura could feel Sebastian shift behind her. His magic pressed at her back. She could feel fear rippling off of him. She shifted slightly, so she was blocking Sebastian. They wouldn't be able to touch him as long as she was here.
"We come with a warning from the rest of the Fairytale world. I know that news from the outside world is rare here and have come to deliver on behalf of the Heroes of Good," Laura stepped forward into the centre of the clearing as the pixie floated back. "The School Master has returned and is running both schools now. He is training all the school-aged children to become evil and has brought old villains back to life for a chance at redemption. Heroes are being targetted and killed in an attempt to take the world for Evil."
Laura paused, letting the news sink in. The Mermaid Queen flicked her tail in displeasure.
"As you all already know, the balance is the most important thing. Heroes are being rounded up and are preparing for war. I know Neverland has a history of remaining nonpartial, but if the School Master manages to kill enough heroes, the sun will set on the fairytale world forever."
The Crocodile King let out a huff of anger. "You already know you have the allegiance of my army. Wherever you need us, we will come."
Laura smiled and nodded. "Thank you,"
"Do you have any news of the mermaids of the Eastern Sea?" The Mermaid Queen asked, her iridescent eyes bouncing between Laura, Max, and Sebastian.
Laura paused, unsure. She glanced back at Sebastian, who stepped forwards.
