. : Sebastian of Havfrue : .
Sebastian kept the pleasantries up long enough to pawn the King and Queen of Villeneuve off on Pandora, who was accompanied by Cinderella.
His mind was swimming and his heart was pounding with rage. He stood now, next to his parents, watching the conversation dart between the famous heroes and the council members. Tedros had gone upstairs to rest after realizing his mother was alive-- another shock that Sebastian hadn't entirely processed-- and Agatha had followed him.
He was furious at Laura. Did he mean nothing to her? As if they hadn't spent the last year trekking through the fairytale world. As if he hadn't divulged secrets? As if he wasn't starting to believe that he truly cared about her, and maybe she cared about him?
Sebastian balled his hands into tight fists. His mother's airy perfume swarmed his mind. Usually, it was something that calmed him, but right now, his mind was thrashing with anger.
The magic pricked at his skin, only a second away from bursting through. Gods forbid she actually communicate and open up once in a fucking while.
"Sebastian,"
Sebastian flinched at the sound of his name, looking up at Pandora, who had come through the door with the King and Queen of Villeneuve.
Everyone was looking at him expectantly. He had been asked something then.
"Sorry?" He spoke. Why was everyone looking at him? Even his parents.
"I asked," Pandora stated. "If you've seen Laura? She's been gone for a long time."
Sebastian huffed, and not wanting anyone to see his face turn red, turned to mutter. "Gods if I fucking care,"
He opened the back door and slammed it behind him, well aware he was acting like a child. He could hear his mother's surprised gasp behind him. "Sebastian!"
He stormed off the back deck and down the backfield, towards the forest. He could feel the magic rioting, sending itself out in waves. He couldn't bring himself to control it.
Sebastian entered the forest, ducking between trees and through bushes until he could no longer see the cottage.
Why did he care so much what she thought of him? It didn't fucking matter. They weren't meant to be friends, they had started as enemies and were clearly going to end up as enemies.
Sebastian came to a halt as he came into a clearing. A small pond was in front of him, and he sat down on the grass beside it. He glanced up at the stars, his heart pounding in his throat.
Silver flashed beneath the water's surface and Sebastian focused on it. Wish Fish, he realized, watching the small school of fish dart around. He had read about them before.
Tentatively, Sebastian reached out and sunk his hand into the water. The fish swarmed, linking around his fingers.
What did he want them to show him? Him, King of Havfrue, leading one of the most powerful and famous Ever Kingdoms? Neverland, finally conquered? Him, with the council? Sebastian with his one true love, whoever that was?
The fish shook violently, before ceasing movement and staring up at him. They had turned a variety of red and grey colours.
"Foggy mind," Sebastian sighed, watching the fish swim off.
He flopped back onto the grass, digging the heels of his palms into his eyes. All he really wanted at the moment was to go to sleep and wake up when the war was over.
There was still the matter of him not telling his parents about the magic. He wanted to do that soon before they left to confront the School Master. Still, fear spiked when he thought of it. Sebastian had seen the way his parents had spoken about magic. What would they say about him, their heir?
