THE kitchen was silent aside from the sound of the packet of protein jelly being emptied, the plastic crinkling was so loud that they couldn't even hear the birds outside, although said birds likely weren't even singing yet seeing as it was still dark out...

It was as though they were having a staring contest, there was a conversation that needed to be had, but neither one of them wanted to start it.

Eventually, Haru broke eye contact, taking a deep breath in as she sat down by the counter.

"I'm just goin' for general studies yeah? I mean it makes sense, seeing as the hero course exams would probably kill me.." the unenthusiastic girl spoke as she messed with a strand of her long hair a bit, it was getting to a length where it had become rather hard to manage, but she didn't bother to cut it off.

Over the past eight months all of their conversations have been like this, not the topic itself, but the atmosphere. They all take place in the early hours of the morning, either in the kitchen or in some other room that lacks personality.

Aizawa sighed as he slid her a single dose of her medication on a paper towel, along with a packet of protein jelly and a cup of water. She looked at it, but she didn't take it, she just looked up at him and raised an eyebrow, the look on her face saying, 'Answers first.'

He glanced down at what he had slid towards her and then back up at her, the look on his face combatting the look on hers by saying, 'Meds first.'

She rolled her eyes and placed the pills into her mouth, taking a sip of her water to get them down, her father began to speak as she did so.

"You'll be taking the recommended exams for the hero course."

Those few words caused her to choke on her water and medication, she stared straight at him, her eyes widening and her eyebrows becoming a bit downturned as she tried to regain her composure, swallowing her medication and chugging the rest of her water to recover.

Before she could respond her alarm had started going off in the other room, the sound radiating through the dimly lit apartment.
