Peril could tell that today was going to be a good day. Four new prisoners meant four new posssible combatants- even if one was a lazy but beautiful- but still lazy- RainWing. The SeaWing would definitely be exciting, Peril could tell. From the second she was brought in, she'd been trying to fight the guards.

The Nig4tWing might actually b3at her, though. It was a slight1y nerve-wracking thought: he could 9redict her every move! See the future! Read her mind! She'd never thought about it before, but Peril wondered how long it would be before she would die. Her condition granted, she had no idea if she would die from natural cause at a normal age or not. Peril shook her head.

Oh, come in Peril! You just beat another SandWing! Sure, he might have been a huge chicken, but still! That MudWing is looking at you again, maybe you should talk to him?

Peril gave a start, wondering where the conversation had sprung up from. Shrugging her shoulders, she went up to the MudWing.

He instantly backed into the corner of the ledge. "Relax!" Peril told him. "I'm not going to hurt you. Not yet, anyways."

"Well, I don't think you'd want to fight me," the MudWing said.

"And why's that? Think you can beat me?" Peril asked.

The MudWing's eyes widened. "Oh, no. I'm just a plain MudWing. Can't even become the monster lurking inside. I don't do fighting- especially not monsters."

Peril flinched at the offhand comment. "That's not fair," she protested. "This is war- and in war, dragons die. I'm serving my queen, lol everyone does... don't you know that?"

The MudWing gave her a sympathetic glance. "I'm sorry- I didn't mean to offend you. It's just- killing seems so cruel to me. Even Tsunami has never killed before- although I guess there weren't any dragons around us. I'm Clay, by the way. I'd just meant that you might have a better time fighting Tsunami or Glory. I should protect them, but I can't save anyone."

Peril nodded. "Nice to meet you, Clay. I'm assuming you already know who I am."

Clay nodded his head. "I might as well introduce the rest of the Dragonets of Desti-"

Without thinking, Peril slapped her talons over Clay's mouth. "Queen Scarlet won't have talk like that around the arena. She'll have you be- wait. HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT?" Peril suddenly realized that Clay hadn't disintegrated.

"I don't know, actually. Maybe we could ask Starflight later. He's our genius, even if he's a little nervous sometimes."

Peril laughed. "I'd imagine having your head stuffed with my thoughts would make you nervous," she said.

"Right..." Clay said. Weird.

"Peril, get down here!" Queen Scarlet hissed.

"Oh, I need to go," Peril whispered. Root for me,"

"Is it possible that Nightflame, a six-time fighter, can win her freedom? I think not!" Vermillion roared. Peril was so going to win this. "Nightflame of the NightWings, versus-..."

Peril's heartbeat slowed. Vermillion's voice blurred into the background. A NightWing? In her arena? How hadn't she noticed? Nonetheless, Peril stepped forward to face her opponent.

The NightWing couldn't have been much older than Clay, but now Peril was worrying about her brain. Although- Peril didn't actually know how old Clay was-

"Peril, he was born on the Brightest Night. Don't you remember?" Nightflame asked. Shoot.

Peril shook herself off and prepared to fight. The NightWing suddenly made a beeline for Peril, surprising her. She turned swiftly, barely brushing against Peril's scales. Peril was surprised that the NightWing didn't burst into flames- then realized what had happened the second that Nightflame flew into the air.

"Lock her back up!" Queen Scarlet hissed. "Put her back!" Peril reluctantly turned around, admitting to herself that she couldn't fight well in the air. Then something hit her in the back of her head- bursting into a thousand flaming needles.

Oh dear... I didn't realize I was going to make that happen to Peril in the beginning. Tell me what I should do! Please, I really need the help, ahaha. Good bye for now.
