HER NAME WAS Aloe of planet Eros, and he'd only known her for a few short days before she disappeared just as quickly as she came.
Upon first glance, anyone would be able to deduce the same thing—she was beautiful beyond comprehension. With pale skin soft and delicate like the iridescent moon on a silent summer night, and a vibrant smile that made heads turn, to anyone with a pair of working eyes she was an unearthly being crafted to perfection. It was the first time he ever truly understood what it meant to feel any sort of attraction towards a woman, or what it felt to thirst for the touch of another the way he did for her. His mind dared him to place a kiss upon every beauty mark on her body, from the one just under her eye to the mark that sat right behind her ear he wanted nothing more than to trace every detail of her body with his hands.
Gohan stood in the silence of the room where she'd been staying only months before, a book which was still opened filled with photos of every species of bird within the rainforest—he remembered the way she smiled when she swore she'd memorize every name and write it down a million times over so she could have stories to take back to her homeland. He remembered how it made him feel when she did, or how he felt when her golden eyes seemed to almost sparkle with excitement as she marveled at the hundreds of photos within the books he'd gotten her—he swore to himself he'd find he every book possible if it meant he got to see her so happy. He remembered searching through his school library endlessly, ignoring the girl in dark pigtails hiding behind a bookshelf—who'd been following him since he'd first enrolled into Orange Star High School—as he stacked every book about geography and the animal kingdom in his arms. He had no time to continue escaping from Videl who for some odd reason was bent on figuring him out—all he wanted was to bring more books for Aloe and continue his studies peacefully.
"She's not coming back, Big Brother?" Goten piped up from beside him with furrowed brows, taking small steps into the empty room she had stayed in. There hadn't been much to begin with. What was previously used as a spare room for storage had been cleared out and dusted for Aloe's stay, and in hopes she'd return, they'd kept it like that in case she did come back.
But she never did come back, not since the last they spoke and he spoke some harsh words to her. He wasn't sure what had made him so upset that day, but the way she spoke so easily of killing another person made him feel uneasy. It made him realize he didn't know much of anything about her, that she was from a world entirely different from his. She was a mystery to him. She was as silent as the night they'd met, and although her smile was welcoming he knew that hidden beneath she was still suffering from the loss of her people. He didn't blame her but he only wished to understand her. He never did ask much and she didn't talk much about her planet and her people, she was always vague and mysterious but he figured one day she would open up.
