ALOE STOOD AT an arm's length from the dull brown sliding door before her, gentle curiosities tempting her to slam open the door and greet the very man she knew sat inside. She could only imagine how he looked while studying, perhaps just as he always did with his head shoved into a book as if physically trying to enter into the very text he was reading. She could imagine the black framed glasses he occasionally wore sliding down his nose and with furrowed brows pushing them back into place. She wondered what his peers looked like and what his relationship with them was, were they all close comrades like the warriors in her homeland? She'd never attended anything even remotely similar to such a place named school as Gohan had called it. Her studies were always closed off and held private within the high palace walls and the only others she'd ever played with were the other royal children. She never got the chance to experience something as normal as school.

A strange sort of excitement bubbled up within her as she glanced back to the man who'd called himself The Principal of Orange-Star High School—he was a rather short man with an easy smile and she was thankful he'd been so quick to persuade.

So there she waited as the suit-clad man behind her stepped past her and slid open the door himself, speaking with an older man with greying hair who stood inside the room before he turned back with a gentle smile and beckoned her inside.

She calmly stepped forward despite the nerves that made her body tremble, wondering what his reaction would be when seeing her. Would he even look at her after their last interaction?

She felt his overwhelming energy before she could see him, as warm as the sun and gentle like the softest breeze caressing her skin, and her heartbeat immediately steadied as his energy encompassed her like a fuzzy blanket. She nearly closed her eyes in relief.

"I'd like to personally introduce a new student starting as of today, she comes from a village very far from here and she isn't very accustomed to the western culture—so please be patient with her. She's made quite a generous donation to this school so I hope you all will graciously accept her despite her appearance halfway through the school year. Please, introduce yourself to the class." The principal of the school nodded towards her with a smile as he spoke before quietly stepping out into the hall with a gentle whistle, she knew he was ecstatic considering the amount she'd given him. Who knew such a small and insignificant jewel from her home planet was enough to fund an entire city as he'd so incredulously exclaimed?

A couple of dozen pairs of curious eyes turned to her as she was introduced, but she ignored their wide-eyed gazes when she almost immediately found a pair of dark eyes burning straight into hers. She nearly stepped back at the sheer weight of his relentless gaze, his thick brows furrowed as his impossibly dark eyes traveled down her body in a way that made her stomach flip. On the outside he was entirely calm, motionless as he captured her gaze within his heated one and it made her body tingle with anticipation.
