ALOE REMAINED SILENT like the stiff air surrounding the two as Gohan jumped off the roof of his school, his movements quick while he carried her off the school's towering building and into the azure blue skies as if she weighed nothing. She managed to spare only a glance down towards the bustling city before he suddenly took through the skies and her heart nearly jumped at the sheer speed at which he tore through the open air.
She quickly tucked her face into his chest when the sharp winds began to sting her skin, he'd never gone this fast before and for a moment, it scared her. She'd never seen him so mad, but given that she had only known him for a little less than two weeks, there were plenty of things she had yet to learn about him.
Then in one swift moment, her feet touched the floor and she found herself standing below a large tree among a field of green. Gohan had long since released her, and she found herself a little more than thankful that they were no longer thousands of feet into the sky and tearing through the cold winds at worrying speeds.
Colorful weeds of blue and yellow peppered the scenery in a wild mess of growth, the soft blue and yellow petals of the flowers daring to attract the butterflies who fluttered by with their nectar as if beckoning them in with a sweet seduction.
She sighed quietly before turning to look up at Gohan, not missing the way the sunlight filtered in through the leaves above, and allowed gentle streams of light to ignite the gaps between the leaves into a picturesque beauty. The rays of the sun met with Gohan's impossibly dark eyes, and he looked ethereal for a moment as the gentle beams of light graced his sharp features. She also didn't miss the way his dark eyes swirled with a sort of anger she'd never seen on him before, his full lips downturned and brows furrowed as he stared down at her silently.
It was almost unnerving.
"I meant it when I said it'd been a while, Aloe." Gohan broke the tense silence, his tone serious as he stared her down. "It's been almost a month since you just vanished, I know we don't know each other that well but I had no idea you could do that."
She bit her lip as she regarded him with furrowed brows of her own, her mind reeling at his words. It was weird, how close she felt to him. It felt as if from the moment they met something had tied them together, almost like an invisible string of fate that made her feel as if she'd known him all her life. To think a stranger would have this sort of effect on her.
"Ah, I'm sorry for being mad. I know you went through a lot, and I don't fault you at all." Gohan suddenly took in a deep breath, his eyes softening as he looked down at her before he ran a hand through his dark locks of hair as if in defeat. "It's just, you've gone through a lot and I want to help you. But I can't when I know almost nothing about you. Not a lot anyway. But I get it, we barely know each other. But at the same time, I feel like I've known you all my life, well I know I haven't but it's just—"
