Chapter 36

Veronica's POV

I frowned while waiting for their answer, my hands on my hips and my eyes shooting daggers to this love demons who are looking to each other and communicating through their minds. I asked them to talk to me, we are in the living room. I looked at Oscar who avoided my gaze and then next to Kara who looked at the ceiling. I asked them to follow Xin to meet this girl named Cassandra, I want to make sure that she will be fine but this love demon don't like my idea, they were scared to my sister.

"Well?" I'm getting impatient, they still won't answer me. "Sheena?" I looked at the blue haired girl.

"I...uh.." Sheena stuttered, she won't meet my eyes. She nudges Kara.

"Baby, Xin would be mad if you let your self in danger." Heidi rubs my hands.

"I won't because they will guard me, I want to see." I can't trust this Cassandra girl, even Xin explained to me that she was fine and have a guardian angel who always follow Cassandra around, I'm still getting anxious.

"She is strong, she can protect herself, we won't be needed there." Oscar said.

"I didn't say that we must protect her, I said we just follow her around without noticing us. Oscar and Othelia, you will come with me." I command.

Oscar and Othelia tried to protest but I lift my right hand a stop sign. I give them a hard look, they just sighed. Sheena and Kara sighed in relief.

"Make sure you won't be caught by Xin, she won't like it when you still treat her like a child." Heidi said and sat crossing her legs.

I looked at her creamy long legs, I can't wait to marry this girl. I told grandma Chelsea that I'm finaly engage with Heidi, she was very happy about it. I tried to call our parents about it but I stop myself, they are still hurt that I choose Xin over them. I never regret my decision, I saw how my sister suffer, she never showed any tears or weakness but I know she was hurt a lot. When the time I needed to choose between my parents and Xin, my parents give me words trying to manipulate me but I didn't give in. When I look at Xin straight in her eyes, I saw a glint of sadness and fear that I never saw before. My heart clenched at that sight, she wants me to be with her and she was afraid that I might leave her too. It really made me happy, she acts strong yet she's a softy in her heart.

When I choose her, she smiled with all her heart, that smile melt me and I promised to myself I won't let her down, I will protect her even if I had to hurt my parents. I'll do anything just for her.

I kissed Heidi's temple. "She won't be mad about it, I'm still her number one."

Heidi giggled. "You love her more than me, baby. But it was fine as long as it was Xin, I'm fine being number two with you."

I just rolled my eyes on her and chuckled.

Othelia kissed Hazel before me and Oscar forced her to leave this apartment.

We all got out, Oscar carry me to his arms and we flew to the sky, with their powers, we became invincible so no one can see us. The sun is still up so we can clearly everything, I'm not scared seeing how I high we were.

They can feel Xin's energy and follow it, we stop in a small building and we are on the rooftop.

"There she is." Oscar pointed at Xin, she was with Cassandra, they were talking at the café.

I used the binocular I brought, I know I just look like a stalker now but hey, it's for her own good.

Othelia rolled her eyes when she saw me I used the binocular, Oscar just shakes his head but had an amusement look on his face.

Xin and Cassandra were talking seriously, we've been here for 30 minutes, sweat started to form on my forehead.

They finaly get out at the café, Oscar carry me again and we followed them for 20 minutes until they stop in a big house, kinda creepy because there are a lot of grass starting to consume the edge of the house.

"Something is wrong here." Othelia frowned while looking at the house intensely.

We all stood behind the trees. "What do you mean?" I asked curiously, I looked around, there are no neighbors near here.

"It's heavy here, the air is not normal. Stay behind us, Veronica." Oscar became serious and Othelia too.

I can't feel anything but I need to follow them, they are still a love demon.

"We must get inside." I said when Xin and Cassandra entered the house.

"We need to stay here." Oscar said.

I raised my brow on him. "We can't know what's happening inside, we need to get inside, now." I demanded them and I walked to get near at the house.

The two love demon had no choice but to follow me, with Othelia's power, we got in so easily. I looked around, there are a lot of books and the it's too dark in here.

"Can you smell it?" Othelia asked Oscar.

"What smell?" I asked and looked between them.

I can't read what they are thinking but the two stood like a guard. They didn't respond so I just shrugged, Xin and Cassandra was not here so I walk without making a sound.

I stop to a dark violet door and I saw a glimpse of light under the door. I leaned my right ears at the door but I didn't hear anything.

"Don't touch anything, Veronica." Oscar whispered to me but his voice is commanding me.

"Okay, relax." I whispered back.

Othelia opened the door and we got inside the room, there are dust and big magic circle on the floor.

"What are humans doing?" Oscar had a dissapointed voice while frowning looking at the magic circle.

"This must be an occult thing what Xin explained to us." I said.

I don't know but my body moves on it's own when I kneeled down and touched the magic circle. Before Oscar could stop me, the magic circle became brighter almost blinding us. I felt there is a rough thing that touched my hands.

My eyes widen when I saw a head with a big horn popped up in the magic circle, it's hands was holding my arm.

I didn't see anything but it was so fast and my brain didn't catch up what's happening. I just felt something came in my body, I felt my head became lighter. I heard voices keeps calling at me. I looked at my sister who were at the door, her eyes became darker and her face became furious.

I felt a rough arm pulled me inside a dark place, all I could remember is darkness.
