Four months later...
"Canaan Blake Hathaway, I here by restore your power and title as Rank 1 Warrior Angel under Michael." The judge angel called out. "The charges against you have been dropped and a public apology from our predecessors has been made. We are truly grateful that you destroyed the demon called Matthew. We here by thank you for your service. Any questions Mr. Hathaway?"
Canaan stood in front of them smiling as they thanked him, he shook his head softly. "No sir, I believe I do not." He claimed.
The angel nodded. "You are free to go Canaan Hathaway."
"Thank you sir." Canaan said as he turned around and walked out of the courtroom.
When he arrived home, Mariah was sitting on the couch as he walked through the door. Her face lit up as she jumped up and ran toward him, wrapping her arms around him.
"Canaan I missed you!" Mariah yelled in excitement. "I am so glad you are home I have some good news for you!"
Canaan kissed his beautiful wife and laughed at her excitement. She grabbed his hand and lead him to the couch, where he sat down beside her.
"What is this exciting news you have to tell me angel?" He asked softly. Mariah's eyes shifted downward toward the coffee table in front of them, Canaan's eyes followed hers as he looked down as well. There on the table, was a pregnancy test. He picked it up and looked at.
"What does it mean?" Canaan asked in curiosity.
Mariah smiled. "I am pregnant Canaan." She said.
At that moment, Canaan's world stopped spinning. Those words hung in his mind as he stared at his wife, a smile etched onto her face. So many thoughts and questions went through his mind at what they were going to do. Fear started to build up in him as he closed his eyes, but that fear was soon replaced with joy as the thought of him being a father.
Tears of joy streamed down his face. "I am going to be a dad?" He asked.
Mariah nodded. "The most amazing dad." She said.
He dropped the pregnancy test and hugged her tightly. His wife was giving him one of the greatest gifts of all time, a child he could call his own.
