With a shout, Canaan jerked awake from the dream that has been haunting him for a long time. A dream that never seemed to left the fake corners of his mind, always lurking and waiting to torture his mind again. Sweat drenched his upper body and blonde hair, his wild blue eyes started to calm as he realized it was only a dream and nothing real. He ran a hand through his drenched hair and blew out a breath, trying to calm himself down and relax.
The reoccurring dream only happened every once and a while. In the dream, he was kneeling in front of a group of people who were sentencing him for a crime he knew he did not commit. It was a crime he did not understand how he could have committed or why he would have. It was always the same dream every time, never altered and always had the same outcome which was him falling from the sky. He did not understand why he was having this dream nor why he was having it so often, it was strange and very vague to him.
He shook the thoughts away and stood up out of bed, his body was formed with a lot of muscle, however his tall figure slimmed him out. On his upper back, detailed tattooed angel wings spread across. He always had a fascination about angels and one day while with a group of friends, he decided he wanted angel wings tattooed across his back; although he might have been slightly tipsy when he received the tattoo, he never regretted it. He stepped into his bathroom to shower; once he turned on the shower and stepped in, he felt completely relaxed. The hot water running over his body eased his tense muscles and cleared his mind, washing away the fear and anxiety from the dream. He washed off and stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around his waist. He stepped into his room and preceded to put on his school clothes, pack his backpack and shut off his computer.
Once he finished getting ready for school, he hurried down the stairs and sat down to eat breakfast with his family. His parents and brother were sitting around the table eating breakfast when he walked down, his mother smiling up at him as sat down with them.
"Good morning my other son." She said as she winked at Matthew, who chuckled slightly.
"Good morning." Canaan stated smiling as he quickly ate his breakfast.
"Busy day I am assuming?" His father laughed.
Canaan nodded. "I have two tests unfortunately and the football game tonight." he stated.
"Are you ready? Both of you?" His father asked both him and Matthew.
Matthew nodded, his shaggy brown hair shaking with his head. "First football game on the varsity team." Matthew stated proudly.
"You better be ready when I throw you the ball!" Canaan laughed as he balled up a napkin and threw it at Matthew. The whole family laughed for a few minutes and quickly finished breakfast. Canaan quickly said goodbye to his parents and Matthew as he went off to school. The school day went by quickly for him that day, he loved having days that seemed to fly by. However, he felt as though something bad was about to occur. He never really had feelings like those before, so he just shook it off and went on with his day.
Once the school bell rang, he was out the door quickly. Unfortunately he forgot his football helmet at home and had to make the trip back home before the football game. He slowly ventured home, thinking of many things to pass the time that it took to get back to his house.
He always lived in the house that he lives in now; his childhood home. He lived with his parents and younger brother Matthew. He has had a wonderful life with his family; loving parents and a great friendship with Matthew, even though Matthew was the younger brother. Matthew was the same height as Canaan except with shaggy brown hair and dull green eyes; his skin was slightly tanned, he was lanky and skinny kid. His personality was goofy almost, he never could go a moment without making somebody laugh. He was the greatest and truest friend Canaan ever had growing up.
As Canaan took a short cut home, he heard a sound come from behind him, interrupting his thoughts. He slowly came to a stop and turned around slowly, scanning his surrounding for a sign of movement. He saw nothing behind him, he just shrugged his shoulders and turned back around to continue walking; he walked a few more steps before a man stepped out in front of him, making him jump in fright.
The man was dressed in a dark suit with dark hair and piercing red eyes, he wore a glowing red pendant around his neck. An evil grin gradually formed on the man's face, sending shivers down Canaan's spine.
"Hello Canaan." The man said. "It is such a pleasure to finally meet you."
